Those who have read my author’s bio may have noticed a recent deletion. After nearly 15 years, we lost our golden girl, Maggie. If you’ve ever lost a dog, you know how tough that is. Now, a year later, we decided that we were ready to go for it again. And so meet…Casey. I’m sure she’ll turn up as a dog character in one of my stories at any moment (I had Maggie in mind when I wrote about Bobby Pendragon’s dog, Marley.)

I have a handful of appearances scheduled, but I won’t be doing them in ernest again until my next book comes out…which will be next July.
And yeah. Casey is pretty cute.

Hey D.J. I love your books so much that I not only noticed that you used a golden retriever as Marley,(Which is a girl dog by the way) but that you used her name three time,(Two in Pendragon: Book Ten: The Soilders of Halla, and once in Morpheus Road: Book Two: The Black) So for me to realize Maggie is really gone…well that’s really hard for me to put my head around. I’m truly sorry. I hope your family won’t forget her, but be able to move forward, one day at time.

It’s so sad Maggie died, I know what it’s like losing a pet and that it always hurts. I have a dog (Turbo) to he’s just a puppy we got him so that our old dog (snickers) would have some company. When snickers died Turbo laid down next to her and was nuzzling her. The next day we put Turbo’s food dish where snickers used to eat and he wouldn’t touch his food until we moved it, so sad.
