Pendragon Movie Blog

I had a request to start a blog where you could weigh in on thoughts about a movie based on The Merchant of Death and to discuss casting. This isn’t to say that a movie is imminent. It isn’t. But I’m working with some folks to develop one now, so you never know. (Just don’t hold your breath!)

So, here’s the blog. Have fun.

    That’s my brother. (*sigh*)

  2. Traveler Gal says:

    Oh, okay.

So he’s only read a small bit of Merchant of Death, then? He hasn’t read much of it, yet?

  3. MissBookworm says:

    He’s read the first page

  4. MissBookworm says:

    of book one

  5. MissBookworm says:

I’ve read all of the first eight

  6. MissBookworm says:

    in six months

  7. MissBookworm says:

each book in about a day and a half

  8. Traveler Gal says:

Yeah, they’re so hard to put down, especially during your first read.

    You’ll love books 9 and 10! Simply put…they’re epic 🙂

  9. MissBookworm says:

I’ve been bugging my dad to take me to the bookstore for about a month now

  10. MissBookworm says:

i got 2-5 all at once, so only having one to read at a time is a little weird

  11. Traveler Gal says:

Aww, I hate it when you’re wanting to read something and you just don’t have it, or can’t get it when you want to. I was lucky enough after I read the first 5 books, I was able to head to the store and I bought books 6-10.

I’m sure you’ll get ’em soon though!

  12. MissBookworm says:

Yeah, my dad won’t be able to take much more of my begging. He’ll crack soon, i just know it.

  13. Traveler Gal says:

Hmm, in a tum-tigger like that, maybe he’ll crack and just have to give in and take you to the store! 😛

  14. MissBookworm says:

    😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 OMG! MY BROTHER’S READING IT!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

  15. Traveler Gal says:

    Woo-hoo! 🙂

That’s awesome! If he gets to Lost City of Faar, soon he’ll be talking like Spader.

  16. MissBookworm says:

    That would be really funny!

  17. Traveler Gal says:

I can’t wait to hear more news about the movie, though. I wonder how long it’ll take before we hear if the movie is going through or not. It’s so hard waiting around, with so excitement and all 😀

  18. MissBookworm says:

I know! It’s driving me insane. I’ve kept the computer on with this website up on this same page all day. I even came back ever ten minutes to check if he posted anything new about the movie. Does that sound obsessive?

  19. Traveler Gal says:

If it is…then I’m obsessed as well!

It’s just too exciting though. As a huge fan, loving the books and whatnot, it’s so awesome to hear there might be a movie. And the books read and feel so much like a movie themselves, that it would translate great on screen, as long as it’s done well decent.

Hopefully though, a long wait just seems things a moving along smoothly 🙂

  20. Traveler Gal says:

Sorry, meant to say done well and decent.

  21. Traveler Gal says:

Hobey! My typing is terrible right now.

I meant to say, “Hopefully though, a long wait just means things are moving along smoothly.”

    There we go.

  22. MissBookworm says:

i hope so. My brother just said that the Merchant of Death is hilarious. I can’t wait until he gets to the action!

  23. Traveler Gal says:

For sure! The humor is great, and the action is just as awesome. He’ll love it. You gotta love the humor in Pendragon. There’s just so much of it. There’s always something I’m laughing at. Whatever book it is, there’s always something funny!

  24. MissBookworm says:

Like Bobby’s ‘secret prearranged signal’ to get Loor to open the door in the first book!

  25. MissBookworm says:

DarthSpader over there’s really getting in the book.

  26. Traveler Gal says:

    Haha, of course!

And in Never War, in the first bit of the book, how he keeps calling himself, “Bobby Pendragon, Undercover Traveler.”

Then when he locks himself in Rose’s office, he says, “Bobby Pendragon, dead undercover Traveler.”

    Gets me every time 😀

  27. Traveler Gal says:

He must really be enjoying it!

  28. MissBookworm says:

Yeah, I’ve never seen him pay this much attention to something that isn’t electronically powered.

  29. MissBookworm says:

he’s on like, page four, but still I’m impressed. He’s only eight but he’s played so many gory video games…

  30. DarthSpader says:

I’m only on the fourth page, but i already love the Merchant of Death. I really want a movie to come out!

  31. Jimmyyyyy96 says:

Hmmm. My favorite Pendragon book is the Reality Bug because that book is full of suspense! I know that was when I really loved Pendragon. I want to read Pendragon sooooooo bad right now, but I have to read Fahrenheit 451 and do assignments for it before school starts and I go back to school in about 1 week 🙁 So I would have to read about 1-2 books a day and all that reading would give me a headache. So I decided I will read Pendragon after I read Fahrenheit 451 and do the assignments and read Pendragon! I read half of Soldiers of Halla the day it came out and it gave me a headache because it was a little difficult to understand. I know my least favorite book was Eelong because of all the sad things with Gunny, Spader, Kasha, and Kasha’s father :(. I love Pendragon series but that was one of the saddest books in the series in my opinion.

  32. Kayto says:

    I’d absolutely love a movie!!

  33. Antwan says:

A Pendragon movie would be Great. My Favorite Pendragon book was Reality Bug, Quillan Games, and Raven Rise. The suspense in the books was AWESOME! Imagine what it would be like in Movie form. It would defiantly be an Action packed Thriller. Audiences everywhere whould be on Edge.

  34. Challenger Black says:

    @Antwan

I agree! The suspense and plot twists in the book would be awesome on screen. In the books, you never know what’s going to happen next, and it would be just like that in the movie.

    Hobey ho!

  35. Marina says:

My favorite book was the Rivers of Zadaa. I don’t like that territory very much but I liked the plot. How they teach him to fight, how there’s a little romance, and the super cool surprise that happens at the end… It was my favorite.

  36. Challenger Black says:

Yeah, Rivers of Zadaa is awesome. I loved Mark and Courtney’s story, how Courtney went to a private school, meets a cute guy…who turns out to be Saint Dane! And then Andy helps Mark get her to the hospital.

    So awesome!

  37. Tanner says:

A movie would be wicked! 😀

  38. Marina says:

Oh yeah! I totally forgot about that part of the story. I read them a while ago. That part is really cool too!

  39. Anna says:

I would have to say Black Water is my favorite of the series. Although it is sad, I like that Mark and Courtney get in the action. I love the parts with Mark and Courtney probably better than Bobby’s tale. I also love Pilgrims of Rayne when Mark and Courtney are on first earth and Dodger’s great as well.

  40. Jenna says:

Yeah, Courtney and Mark’s stories are always so awesome, and they get so intense as the series progresses (especially with books 6, 7 and 8).

And Dodger is awesome! He’s definitely my favourite acolyte 🙂

  41. Tori says:

I’ve been hoping for a movie ever since reading Merchant of Death and always thought it would be a great idea. I’ll be psyched if this movie is made!!

    Hobey ho, let’s go!

  42. Novan says:

A Merchant of Death movie would be awesome!!

    😀

  43. Evie_J says:

Then I would say where do I sign up to audition?!?! I’m still only on the first book but It’s gonna be a fast read for me 😛

  44. Spark says:

I’ll bet a lot of people are going to want to audition! Even if it’s only a minor role or part…the number of people that will want to audition for this would be huge! 🙂

If this really happens, then I can’t wait for the movie!

  45. Phoenix says:

I can’t wait to see this movie if it’s made!! It’ll be wicked cool!

  46. Jade says:

I think a Pendragon movie is a fabulous idea. The books are great, and audiences would love the characters and plot twists in the books, and more people can be introduced to Halla.

I say hobey ho, let’s go!
