I had a request to start a blog where you could weigh in on thoughts about a movie based on The Merchant of Death and to discuss casting. This isn’t to say that a movie is imminent. It isn’t. But I’m working with some folks to develop one now, so you never know. (Just don’t hold your breath!)

I just started reading Pendragon books a month ago and im on the next to last book. OMG!! I am so in love. This needs to be a movie right now. It will be better than Twilight or The Hunger Games. Please give us the movie.

I think the characters should be played by new people. Open auditions to allow everyone a chance. Bobby should be an average guy not too athletic which allows for the audience to relate easier and so we can see him change more throughout the books as he becomes more athletic and mature. Courtney should be average but pretty with that pretty girl next door that your to shy to admit your hot for kind of look. Mark should be skinny and nerdy looking but not too over done but with the too shy so I’ll just study look. I think that would make a good set up for the characters.

One time I played a really funny public scam… IN PUBLIC.
I got a deck of cards, went around to people with big sunglasses in the crowd and bet them $5 a piece that no matter what card they picked or who shuffled it, I could tell them what it was. “Pick a card, any card!” I saith.
They bet their $5 and picked a card. Then I scowled at them and said “I can see the FEAR in your EYES!” while I was really just looking at the reflection of the card in the glasses. I got it right every time.
Try it at your school or something if you need fast cash.
Just keep in mind that I am practically a caveman in appearance, and have studied Karate for 4 years. If you are small and weak it may be a bad investment of your life…

The funniest one I pulled was on my mom. We were at McDonald’s I had sweet tea and she had sprite (She hates sweat tea). Well, while she was looking away, I switched the cups. When she took a sip, she spat it out. Then she got mad at me.

On second earth, time goes by. Eventually it will end up in the time that third earth is in. What will the happen to second earth? Does it stay in the time period 2000 and whatever or does it keep going on in earth time and eventually second earth will be in the same time as third earth? please help me understand!

I just finished this series and want to say very well done D.J. I know the possibility of a movie isn’t imminent, but if it were, like the Hunger Games, I believe it would become a huge success. I know it’s hard to put your faith in Hollywood to make your visions come alive, but they can come pretty close after seeing Harry Potter and Hunger Games. And yes, things won’t always be up to par with the visions us readers have created in our head. But believe me, I have no doubt in my mind that this would be the biggest hit film, to both readers and non-readers.

Because when you trust Hollywood to make a movie out of a book, the odds are not ever in your favor!
If they would have done HG with the people who made the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, it may have been a truly great movie.

Well that’s confusing…. I always thought of it as, second earth time will keep going, but by the time it gets to third earth time, it’s just third earth. Nothing changes or anything. Just like when the year changes, like, on New Years, it changed from 2011, to 2012, it’s not like 2011 exploded or anything, it just changed to 2012. If we traveled back to 2011 somehow, it would still be the same. Does that make sense? So as Robert Pendragon said, if Gunny lived 70 more years, and traveled back to First Earth, it would be first Earth. I wouldn’t refer to it to his home exactly, because that would be where he is living at the time. Sorry that was long 🙂

My thoughts are that it’s like in a never ending time-line. Eventually, First Earth becomes Second Earth, Second Earth becomes Third Earth, Third Earth continues to age, and a new First Earth forms again, all at the same rate of time. However, it’s all just happening to one Planet Earth. Does that make any sense at all?

I absolutely loved this series! I couldn’t put it down…..fell in love with the characters….and actually cried when it was done because I knew it was Over. I’m not a reader…..never have been. But I loved these books. I want a movie to be made so bad I can’t even stand it! I really hope it happens! Thanks for the good times with the book! Cheers!

I honestly don’t think that anything else can be made into a movie based off a book like harry potter or lord of the rings was. I have mixed feelings about a movie. I’ve been reading these books as they’ve been published since I was in middle school and I still re-read them and love them! But I think unless a fortune is spent to make a movie as accurate as harry potter I think I would be a bit disappointed since I’ve always had my own idea of how things should be…

The thought of a movie is exciting as long as it doesn’t end up like other books that have been turned into movies. I would love to see Pendragon on the big screen, but it also worries me because Hollywood can easily ruin the entire plot. But as long as it’s made with the right company 🙂

Weren’t you payIng attention during the last book at ALL?? It’s just Earth, there’s only a first, second, and third earth because of the turning points that were targeted.
However, if I was to completely ignore this fact and think of it how you are, I would say second earth is second earth. When second earth is in , third earth is in a correspondingly farther time from the time we know it in. Itll just be the year. At some point second earth was in the 1930s (unless it just materilized in 2002 A.D., which I somehow doubt.)
