Pendragon Movie Blog

I had a request to start a blog where you could weigh in on thoughts about a movie based on The Merchant of Death and to discuss casting. This isn’t to say that a movie is imminent. It isn’t. But I’m working with some folks to develop one now, so you never know. (Just don’t hold your breath!)

So, here’s the blog. Have fun.

How many years until people have cellphones made into the side of their skulls?

This is true, that movie did suck. Of course, that’s because they only made one, and I felt like they crammed a bunch of random moments from the books to make a movie. That would be almost impossible to do with Pendragon, because of how complicated the whole story is.
    @Robert Pendragon
Maybe thirty… Although, that doesn’t sound like something I would EVER do….

    @ Robert Pendragon

Right now, people are saying that we will no longer have drivers lisence and credit card and such because we will just all have them uploaded onto IPhones.

Has the world learned nothing from the 4th Pendragon book???

  4. Tribbun and Ribbon says:

OMG! this is so cool, I’ve never been on here at the same time as someone else!!!!!

    @ Patricks Acolyte

That’s kind of scary! I’m going to bring back the huge cellphones that had the antennaes! (they’re not smart enough to take over the world)

  5. Patricks Acolyte says:

    I totally agree!

    BRING BACK THE ANNTENAES!!!!!!!

  6. Tribbun and Ribbon says:

    YEAH!!!!!

  7. Robert Pendragon says:

Those old Cellphones can’t work anymore, but when they did they had perfect reception everywhere and never dropped calls.

  8. Batu Warrior says:

@Tribbun and Ribbon and Patricks Acolyte
Surely you must realize, that a ton of teenagers would seriously die. You can’t text on those lol πŸ™‚
    @ Robert Pendragon
    They’ll make new ones!

  9. Robert Pendragon says:

The reason they don’t work is because they wont even turn on anymore they are almost like bricks if you made a copy of an old one the way it was when it was new it would stop working immediately. The Phone companies somehow made that happen I don’t remember how…

I get what you’re saying. Like every ones saying, we shouldn’t keep the book to ourselves, but it would just be awful, if a bunch of people read the books, and then claimed to be the biggest fans ever. Like, there’s this really bitchy girl at my school, who didn’t even know the Hunger Games until the previews started coming out, and then she claimed to be the biggest fan ever. I’d hate it if she got into Pendragon… I bet even then I could trump her on any Pendragon question. Γ°ΕΈΛœΕ“ Like, you know how there’s questions at the back of each book? I can do all except 1,2,8,9 because I didn’t get the book with the questions in the back.

    3) Nancy
    4) Tricolor
    5) Rollers
    6) Corwind
    7) I’m at a hotel and can’t remember the question, but I do know the answer, I’ll know it when I see the question.
    10) Halla.

  11. Tribbun and Ribbon says:

    @ GOCLORAL
I completeley get what your saying!!

(Don’t mean to go all Hunger Games on you guys for a second but it contributes to my story)

A girl at my school, lets call her Bob, came up to me and told me that she went to go see the Hunger Games movie, so I said ” Yeah Bob, whatever.” Then the next week she came to school after reading the series claiming that it was the best book ever and she was the biggest fan ever (which it isn’t and she is not). Also she kept sending me these notes that had pictures of peeta on them holding bread that said Peeta Power! on them with a picture of Gale crying in the corner. I personally am more of a Gale fan. Point is, she’s mean and a jerk.

Once again, Sorry to go all Hunger Games on you but it was needed to tell my story.

  12. Tribbun and Ribbon says:

    Why isn’t my picture there!!!!

  13. Andrew Chavez says:

i think you should make a movie about the pendragon merchant of death because it is a new york times best seller and has a lot of adventure

  14. Andrew Chavez says:

I think pendragon would do good as a movie and you should make it one. your the best.

  15. Andrew Chavez says:

I think y should make a movie out of the pendragon books to let more people that pendragon is also a book. like the hunger games, except well you know it will be a pendragon movie. your the best d.j

  16. Andrew Chavez says:

    i love your books

  17. GOCLORAL says:

    I got it!!!

    7) fourteen—– No, I did not look all these up in the book, I remembered the answers from when I read the books. I only remember the important stuff. (Pendragon, good movies, volleyball plays, ect.) School does not count as important in my book. πŸ˜‰

  18. Batu Warrior says:

    @GOCLORAL
Wait, there are questions at the back of the books? This is something I’ll have to go check…..
    @ Tribbun and Ribbon
I laughed when you called the girls Bob… Lol…. When the Hunger Games movie was about to come out, I was in the musical “Oliver” For my studio. So a couple of the older kids, including me, were talking about the books and how excited we were, so then all these other girls started reading, then, all these eight, nine, ten year olds started reading them. It got really annoying when you walked into the green room in between scenes in Oliver, and all these little kids were sitting around, the books all over the place, talking about the how much they loved the Hunger Games…..

  19. Tribbun and Ribbon says:

    @ GOCLORAL

Nice. I feel the exact sam eway

  20. EelongCatfolk says:

    @ GOCLORAL & T and R
I know, right!?! I also hate when you’re talking to your friends about something and some random person tries to jump in acting like they know what you’re talking about even though they’re completely clueless. Best way to figure out who they are is by asking them if they’ve seen/read/heard about something you just made up. It’s really funny when they say yes and you try telling them that it’s impossible, and they argue with you about it. But it gets really scary when they start telling you all about it and they’re right.

  21. GOCLORAL says:

    @ Eelong Catfolk

LOL. I know the feeling. I did that to a girl at my school, and she was pretty mad when I laughed at her and told her that I haven’t been to Iran, and the sunsets don’t look pretty over all the grass. πŸ™‚

    @ Batu Warrior

IKR. My sister saw the movie and now she’s trying to make me get the book from my school library. It’d be kind of awkward seeing a bunch of ten year old’s reading them around the school.

  22. Weird_Pirate says:

i think if its for book one it would be simple to a point to make. Book two is way tougher, water everywhere, animation simple and done but man the work for that?!?! the model sheets the concept art. I barly have half a stroyboard without worriing so much about other stuff>> but i think the movie the would be most “diffulct”i personally think for a live action are books 2, 4, 5, 7, a little, 8 to a point i think, 10 will be come good amount of work

  23. courtney chetwynde says:

what book are you talking about @GOCLORAL

just got back from the national science bowl competiton in DC we didnt place but it was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. GOCLORAL says:

@ Courtney Chetwynde I’m talking about the Hunger Games.

    @ Weird_Pirate

How would book 1 be simple? There’s the giant quigs, Saint Dane morphing (I know that’s in every book, but it would be hardest the first time), finding a lady large enough to play Queen Kagan, and finally, the hardest of all, an exploding tak mine.

  25. Tribbun and Ribbon says:

    @ Go Cloral

Yesterday I was at school and another girl (Bob #2) Came up to my friend and I and she started saying how much she love the books ( I don’t mean to be cruel but I’m pretty sure she can’t read at all) So I asked her who her favourite character was and she said that she forgot them all (shocker). So then, I told her that my favourite was Dave and she said ” Yeah! Dave’s so cool!” When I told her there was no Dave she got really angry and walked away.

What alarmed me most is that there’s been previews for the hunger games and big posters everywhere for like, the past year, and she STILL doesn’t know any characters?????

    :O

    @ Batu Warrior

I must say I’m only 11 (turning 12 very soon) but I DID read the Hunger Games about a year before they came famous. Whats really annoying is when people come up to you and they say something like, “This is such a good book! have you read it?” and in your head you’re thinking, “yeah, I told you to about a year ago and you wouldn’t”

    Sorry! long post!

  26. Tribbun and Ribbon says:

did this bring my picture back?

  27. Tribbun and Ribbon says:

    yay!

    OK im done now!

  28. Anna says:

    @Weird_Pirate & GOCLORAL
Merchant of Death would be pretty simple to create, with the use of computer graphics and animation. The quigs can easily be done by animation, same for the morphing. Finding someone large enough to play Kagan might be difficult, which they probably wouldn’t do. Why are there no really big actresses? That’s kind of discriminative lol. However, there’s always fat-suits. For the tak mine explosion, again computer technology has come a long way and can hopefully cover everything.

  29. GOCLORAL says:

    @ Tribbon and Ribbon

I did too. I found it annoying when Joe 1 and Joe 2 (girls in my class) didn’t read the books until the previews came out, then they claimed themselves to be the world’s biggest fans. It was REALLY annoying!

  30. GOCLORAL says:

BTW everyone. It’s GOCLORAL. Not Go Cloral, or Gocloral, or GoCloral. No offense if you did do it. I’m not mad, I just thought I should point it out. Again, I’m NOT mad.

  31. Robert Pendragon says:

I am here I have not been posting for a few days…. I have been cleaning out my car it turns out there was a lot of stuff under the seats and in the back that I needed to get out, also I found a dime from 1965.

  32. Tribbun and Ribbon says:

    @ Robert Pendragon
I have a nickel from 1965! We could be coin buddies!!!!!

  33. GOCLORAL says:

1965, such an interesting time period. With the whole, Vietnam Conflict and such. I’ve just tried out liquid eyeliner for the first time. I look pretty good!! That was TOTALLY off subject! πŸ˜‰

  34. courtney pendragon says:

    this book is amazing!
why no one make the first book’s movie?
it could be the best movie ever.but the characters for courtney and bobby should be very pretty!!

  35. GOCLORAL says:

All right everyone. I need help. If your new here, well, no offence, but I’m not sure how much help you could be for the first part. I need two things:

    1) Interpersonal skills I have
    2) Catchy slogans I could use on posters to help me run for Student Government.

  36. Tribbun and Ribbon says:

    @ GOCLORAL

Your very good at helping people solve issues, which is quite an important interpersonal skill.

You should use something that tells the truth, such as…

Vote for me because I’m awesome!
Pick me because i’m the coolest person ever!
    I’m so cool!!

sorry that probably didn’t help you at all

  37. GOCLORAL says:

    @ Tribbon and Ribbon

Thanks for the help. It didn’t help, but they sure did make me laugh!!

I totally forgot! May the fourth be with you. Happy Star Wars Day!!

  38. GOCLORAL says:

I meant the “Vote me because I’m awesome!” didn’t help. But the interpersonal skills one did!

  39. Robert Pendragon says:

I am here now I will got that way then to the left then forward then to the right then up then to the left then up again then to the left again then finally into the window to the main building on the new continent to kill the sleeping angels that are trying to break into my dreams.
