I had a request to start a blog where you could weigh in on thoughts about a movie based on The Merchant of Death and to discuss casting. This isn’t to say that a movie is imminent. It isn’t. But I’m working with some folks to develop one now, so you never know. (Just don’t hold your breath!)

Pendragon would be amazing as a movie, but it would be even better as a television series. It would be done better with more accuracy (without have to squeeze each novel into two hours). It could be a one season per novel format, which is optimistic but not unheard of (see Game of Thrones). A cast of young, fresh faces would attract a large audience and a station with the budget would execute it extremely well.

Here’s who i think should play the roles of some of the characters for the merchant of death.
(I’m trying to stick within the age of the characters in the book so that’s why some of them are disney)
Bobby: Ross Lynch, Josh Hutcherson, and maybe David Henry
Courtney: Madeline Carroll, Selena Gomez, or Olivia Holt
Mark: Jake T Austin, Leo Howard
Uncle Press: Eric Bana, Robert Downy Jr. , or Stephan Moyer.
Saint Dane: Ralph Fiennes, or Jason Isaacs.
Osa: Kerry Washington, or Gabrielle Union.
Loor: Zendaya Coleman
Alder: William Moseley, Ben Barnes, or Ed Speelers.
Again i’m trying to stick to the age group of the first book.

I think the Pendragon Series should be a movie! The Merchant of Death is the perfect part 1. If Mr. MacHale does not write a screenplay for it, I would love to volunteer. I will write it for free, but if you use it, I would appreciate some royalties. This is an excellent series and I think, custom-made for the big screen.

I think Josh Hutcherson, David Henry, and Selena Gomez are a little to over exposed. I think that people who haven’t been in many movies or showes would be best. Either that, or fresh faces.
