I had a request to start a blog where you could weigh in on thoughts about a movie based on The Merchant of Death and to discuss casting. This isn’t to say that a movie is imminent. It isn’t. But I’m working with some folks to develop one now, so you never know. (Just don’t hold your breath!)

I know! Everything I look up says that Josh Hutcherson would be an awesome Bobby. Uhh… yeah, no. Then, I also saw the actor who plays Edmund in the Narnia Chronicles. He kind of looks like Bobby on a few of the book covers.

what about Beau Mirchoff? he’s definitely not 14 though and i think it would be a better movie if they stuck with actors in the age group of the age group in the books. Does anybody think Ross Lynch would be good if you died his hair brown?

I don’t think Ross Lynch would be a good Bobby because he doesn’t look, well, like he has the fate of Halla in his hands. He looks too innocent. I agree with Courtney pendragon that his acting skills aren’t very Bobby-ish.

I like Callan McAuliffe for Mark because he looks a little young for his age and has dark wavy hair ( kinda like mark) I kind of like Ryan Hanson Bradford for Bobby but he looks like he’s 12….. I like Sterling Beaumon. I don’t really know for who, but I feel like he looks like someone…..
I can’t find anyone for Courtney because there’s hardly any one with grey eyes and that’s really important for me…
It’s Hard to find anyone really because it’s highly unlikely that you will find someone who looks exacty how you pictured them…

I think that Callan McAuliffe would be an awesome Mark! Ryan would be an okay Bobby, except for the fact that he has way too much hair. I kind of like Madeline Carroll for Courtney. She has the same in-your-face look that I imagine with Courtney. Olivia Holt’s just too… nice and girl-next-doory. I think that Asa just looks too young. Well, maybe he’d work since it’s not like a Pendragon movie is happening anytime soon.

Jason Isaacs would be a gr8 saint Dane I think. Asa just doesn’t really have that bobbyish look. But maybe he might look different by the time they would make the movie. Callan would just be too old to play bobby. I don’t know it’s hard to say who would be a good bobby. But yeah Madeline Carroll would be a good Courtney.

You’re on the last book? I can’t wait to get there. I read the whole series about 3 years ago, but I don’t remember the end at all. So now I’m re-reading the books. I’m currently on the eighth. I really despised the ending of the seventh. Oh, well.
Stephan Moyer does kind of fit the image of Uncle Press. However, I think that Nathan Fillion also looks like Uncle Press. What do you guys think?

Definitely books 1 and 2. I loved book numbers 5, 6, and 7. I don’t know about the rest yet. I liked book 3, but it just wasn’t the best. It’s not like it’s possible to have a book about Saint Dane and Bobby and not have it be good…
