I had a request to start a blog where you could weigh in on thoughts about a movie based on The Merchant of Death and to discuss casting. This isn’t to say that a movie is imminent. It isn’t. But I’m working with some folks to develop one now, so you never know. (Just don’t hold your breath!)

I don’t think I ever really believed that Mark would die . . . I mean, I’ve read a lot of books that I wouldn’t doubt that the author is . . . let’s say ‘devious’ enough to actually kill off one of the main characters. Pendragon isn’t one of them. When you really think about it, the overall plot isn’t that great. The actual writing is AMAZING, the places are freakishly well created, and the individual plots of Saint Dane are fantastic, but the plot over the 10 books as a whole isn’t particularly original, surprising, or unique. I wasn’t surprised when SPOILER ALERT Mark didn’t die, when Nevva ‘died,’ or when you got the classic ending of ‘the hero doesn’t really kill the bad guy because that would be immoral, he is defeated by some other means.’ (if you don’t know what I mean by that, look at these endings. Avatar: took his bending away, didn’t kill him; Star Wars: killed by the father turned good, protecting his son; Harry Potter: killed by his own rebounding spell; Zelda: sealed, turned to stone, spirit sucked into a sword, etc.)

I read the book around midnight, so I ended up crying myself to sleep, but that was before I finished that chapter. So, when I went to school that morning, and I finished that chapter, I was crying tears of joy, and everyone was wondering why I was crying. Then my teacher got involved, but I was to happy to talk. That went on for about ten minutes before I started talking to myself. My conversation with myself went something like this: “I knew it. He wouldn’t die.” “You didn’t know it. You thought he was gonna die.” “Shut up. It doesn’t matter. He’s alive.” “You still didn’t have faith.” Then my friend came up and asked if I was okay. I just smiled and started laughing… Funny day.

I just finished reading the Soldiers of Halla again. I was crying so hard just because it was over and there no more books left. I do that at the end of every book series. Especially Morpheus Road. My copy of that book is so destroyed…….

For some reason, I’ve never been sad at the end of a series. Maybe because I know that theres still so much to do with it, like these blogs, and getting my brother, mom, cousin, aunt, and other cousin to read it and constantly asking them “So how far are you now?!?!?!” or because of the kinda sorta maybe movie that might be coming out, or because I’ll be rereading them for a long time into to future. My mom just finished the series and she said that she was sad that theres no more, but I just never really got that feeling. . . . And maybe I’m just insane ^.^

I was so sad at the end of the blood!!!!! I had read the light 7 times when the second one came out and then I finished that one but didn’t like it as much as the first, so then I started reading the first one again and I was on my 11th going on to my 12th time when the blood came out. Then I finished THAT and I cried so much. I am now on my 15th time reading Morpheus road going on to my 16th! For some reason that book never gets old…….

That was a good series, but I think Pendragon was a little better. I mean, they were both amazingly good, but Pendragon had a little something more. I read the Blood about two times, then I lost it. I shalt find it! Wow. ‘shalt’ is a word… Weird. I feel like Shakespeare!!!!!!!!!!!!
