I had a request to start a blog where you could weigh in on thoughts about a movie based on The Merchant of Death and to discuss casting. This isn’t to say that a movie is imminent. It isn’t. But I’m working with some folks to develop one now, so you never know. (Just don’t hold your breath!)

These are the best books i’ve ever read and they would totally make an amazing movie!! I would love to play Courtney, i look the part and i’m 14 plus she’s my favourite character.

Okay…I think we all have established the fact that we want all new actors for at least the 3 main characters…I am sick of hearing that over and over again

I’ve read these books so many times and I can’t read any other book without thinking these are better. They really should become a movie!

I think the movies would be best if new actors were casted. It would creat a fresh start to the movie and separate the movies from the rest.

Loor – Rhyon Nicole Brown (she’s done some really good work)
Gunny Van Dyke – Morgan Freeman (Who doesn’t want him to be Gunny?)
Aja Killian – Zoe Kravitz
Osa – Kerry Washington/Nia Long/ Gina Torres (I couldn’t besides since they’re all great!)
Bobby Pendragon – Josh Hutcherson or Callan McAuliffe (McAuliffe has done some really good work too)
Uncle Press – Robert Downy Jr.
Mark – Noah Ringer
Courtney – Saoirse Ronan

Same here, BuggyReality. It’s tough waiting, wondering what’s happening, what’s going to happen, but that’s all we can do I guess.
I’m just trying to keep busy so I’m not thinking about it too much. I’d probably drive myself crazy if I did 🙂

Yeah, you’re right. I’m keeping myself busy by re-reading the books again. As for what to do once I’m done that…I’m not quite sure.
They say good things come to those who wait though. Let’s hope that’s true in this case 🙂

The way I look at it, is the longer we go without news the better. That’s what I’m hoping, anyway. If we haven’t heard news in a month, hopefully that means things are looking good for the possibility of a movie 🙂

Yeah, it would be great if we could, at the least, be told if discussions are going on, if things are looking good for a potential movie. It’s hard waiting with no news coming in.

I’ve seen something from DJ that said that it would NOT be animated, would NOT be a TV series, and that he’s already said no to several people that he thought would wreck it, but i have no idea how long ago he said that…I just hope a movie gets made.

Yeah, I agree what he said. I don’t think animation would be the best idea, nor would a TV series. Movies really, in my opinion, is the best route to take. Hopefully one is on the way 🙂

I’m an only child, so I don’t really have anyone to annoy, except my parents. I keep bringing up the movie and how excited I am and whatnot. I just like talking to people to help get the excitement out.
The only people you can’t annoy are other Pen fans 🙂

If we do get news that this movie will get made, I can’t wait to see how many comments there’ll be. I bet a lot of people are going to out of their minds thrilled…I know I will be 😀

Yeah, that’s for sure. The blog on the Soldiers of Halla epilogue has the most comments, but it won’t be long till this blog has the most. It’s only been a month and so far there’s over a 1000 comments.
