Pendragon Movie Blog

I had a request to start a blog where you could weigh in on thoughts about a movie based on The Merchant of Death and to discuss casting. This isn’t to say that a movie is imminent. It isn’t. But I’m working with some folks to develop one now, so you never know. (Just don’t hold your breath!)

So, here’s the blog. Have fun.

  2. Challenger Black says:

Yeah, I guess some people either don’t like the books (how that’s possible, not quite sure) like them, love them…or are simply obsessed 🙂

  3. MissBookworm says:

Not liking Pendragon should be a crime…okay maybe not, but it’s definately wrong.

  4. John says:

so i dont think im gonna start memorizing lines since the spader is not till the 2nd movie.im just working on his slang till D.J. decides it is a fan audition.

  5. flight29downer says:

Ya well ive been working on courtneys lines and adittude when i get

  6. miki says:

ive been memorizing aja’s lines but i really dont need to because shes in book three & four!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. flight29downer says:

If i cant be courtney ill start memorizing ajas lines cause she is my fav character and im alot like her. But courtney is first so ill audition for her first and i can eaisily do her adittude

  8. Melanie says:

A lot of my friends love these books, I got a lot of them hooked, I’m just gonna ask one of them to help me run lines 🙂

  9. Melanie says:

I think I would play a pretty good Courtney 🙂

  10. miki says:

melianie do you live in arizona??

  11. John says:

so missbook i tried to visit the link but i would have miss starks friend.

  12. Catherine says:

I think a movie would be great because I love the books so much! I NEVER read books after I read them the first time, but I am reading them again and I still get excited for good parts in the books!
The crew and director need to be thought of very carefully, because whatever image the movie leaves it is how people will see it when reading the books. For example, I had a completely different idea for the last Harry Potter book compared to the movie and now I can’t stand the books or the movies (makes me very sad).
Unfortunatley I have no suggestions of who to cast, but if there is any doubt in your mind of who to cast DON’T make a movie!!! This is literally breaking my soul to say because I SOOOO want to see Cloral and the Lost city of Faar (FAV BOOK), but it won’t be worth it if the movie doesn’t live up to the book.

  13. John says:

@catherine yea cloral is great which is why i hope its a fan audition and i want to be spader.

  14. Melanie says:

Miki, I don’t live in arizona, I’m actually Canadian 🙂

  15. Dogma says:

You guys are pathetic. Yes, I love pendragon and would like to have am movie, but you guys are just using this for your own gain. Pendragon, the one thing that got me through my childhood, might be coming to the big screen and all you can talk about is how you guys are perfect for the part?

Well I can safely bet not even 1% of you are nearly as good as you think you are. You all sound like a bunch of self absorbed children. It’s not just about the attitude, knowing the lines, or having the look. You actually have to be GOOD. And trust me, being a good actor is VERY difficult. Without a hell of a lot of training and practice, you’ll never really be anything. And even then, some “theater teachers” don’t even know what it truly means to act. To be able to fool an entire group of people into thinking, for just a small fraction of time, that you’re somebody that you’re not. To be able to tell a tale so compelling and being so believable, that people will be sitting on the edge of theirs seats and hanging on your every word.

Some of you (John, for example) can’t even use proper grammar.

Catherine, however, has the right idea. Be careful, D.J. Make it great, or don’t make it at all.

  16. BuggyReality says:

Well I’m sorry Dogma that our expression of joy over the idea of a possible Pendragon movie makes you upset, but the people on this blog really appreciate the masterpiece that is Pendragon and want to be part of it. I’m sure that any one of us who really really want to be the characters that we like will be able to put on a great performance, because of how much we love Pendragon and because of how much we wish this possible movie to be the best there is. So, I can’t believe that you, after hopefully reading all of our comments, would think that’d we would be subpar when it comes to getting into Pendragon. Also, what does John’s grammar have to do with his acting ability. How do you know that he has impeccable grammar when writing on paper but laxes when on a computer? So dont think us self absorbed. We just are enthused about this. Pendragon rules!

  17. Flume of Doom says:

    Yeah.
What an intellectual dweeb Dogma is.

Interrupting the sequence of perfectly logical reasoning just to proclaim himorherself superior to all.

    There was a coward.
    His name was Howard.
And when by a giant squid he got devoured,

    I bet my pie,
    That he’s die,
But die he didn’t for he was sly.

  18. John says:

@Dogma, i apologize that when I type I am on the computer I do not not proof read everything I type. Also I have had acting experience and even if I don’t get the part I still will enjoy the movie. Also if it is a fan audition then the fans who would know the characters better than some of the actors audition for the part. We would know the back story as for some of the characters there are the before the war books. Also few things I want to say, check your second sentence work on how you write, its a movie not am movie. Also I doubt any of us are perfect for no one is perfect for any part but I believe some of us are great for the part.

  19. flight29downer says:

    @dogma
Well sorry if us obssesing over wanting to be part of our fav series is upsetting you. Thats your problem. We all know that there is a slim chance for us getting parts if there is a movie because everyone wants the part. No one said we arent aloud to dream. It seems like maybe you wanted to be an actor and failed, so your taking you anger out on us. I would love to be Courtney and I say I would do a great job. That doesn’t mean everyone will think the same way. We are all excited and we are just getting impatient for news so we are dreaming. So relax and stop being so up tight.

As press would say “this is the way it is ment to be”

    Hobey ho
    Let’s make a movie

  20. Melanie says:

Honestly, were not being self- obsorbed, we all just love pendragon so much that we aall want to be apart of it. We may say we want to play a certain part and that we think we will be good, thats just our opinion. You have no clue if any of us are amazing actors, soo jeez just chill

  21. flight29downer says:

Ya u seriously need to chill

On a happier note, I found a great song for when Courtney falls into the depression/or when she stops being the best at soccer. The song Viva la vida because of how she used to be feared by the other girls and how they then started beating her all the time

  22. Flume of Doom says:

    There was a Snot,
    Who stunk a lot,
Went in a bar and came out shot.

    He was dead,
    as a lump of lead,
And rightly so with that hole in his head.

But this Snot came back to life,
Along with his half rotted wife,
    To pillage and plunder,
    To wobble and blunder,
    And, by thunder, this Snot
Was the cause of much strife
    For he was a Robot.

  23. Quig Pig says:

    There was a Nerd
    His name was Mark,
    He shot a Bird,
    At the park.

    When he got arrested,
    His brain he tested,
To discover a way the cops be bested.

So he made up a story,
    Of strangeness and glory,
The details of which were bizarrely gory.

    That his friend Bobby,
    met his doom,
    When for his hobby,
    He rode the Flume.

    Since it was cool,
    Mark skipped School,
To shoot birds at the Swimming Pool.

  24. billy says:

I like how you all argued against the hate. 🙂

  25. BuggyReality says:

We would never have let it slide by billy without a comment.

  26. flight29downer says:

Ya we had to say something it was mean and totally out of place. Dogma doesnt know what he is talking about it, so we had to say it something!!!

  27. Melanie says:

It was rude and uncalled for, so we had to say something

  28. BuggyReality says:

So, do you have anything else to say Dogma?

  29. flight29downer says:

Ya show your self mr. I know eveything

  30. Quig Pig says:

All I can say is that Dogma possesses much conceit.

  31. cayleycattt says:

Lol oh my gosh, @Dogma you are a piece of work. We’re all people appreciating what Pendragon is and what we hope it will be for the movies. You’re just trying to ruin in for us aren’t you? If it really is what “got you through your childhood” then you would be as excited as us! Smh

  32. Quig Pig says:

    There once was a Dane
Who walked out in the rain.
    He says he’s a saint
    But a Saint he Ain’t.

    INSANE ASYLUM.

    Dumb was he,
    Who bent his knee,
    To the master of Atrocity.

    A bringer of Pain,
    A Saint called Dane,
Whose schemes are clever but insane.

    He was walking along,
    Singing a song,
About how Pendragon wouldn’t last long!

    A peasent arrived,
    and started to Quip;
    but as Dane connived,
    to pull out a Whip.

    The Saint was so gentle,
    he didn’t Attack;
But rather equippeth his handy Torture Rack.
    And being sentimental,
    He broke the guy’s back!

    SAYING:
    “Behold and Lo,
    For I’m A Foe,
Who seeks to cause you considerable Woe!”

But then he turned, to see but who:
His stomach turned, his face went blue!
“Halla Almighty! OH NO it’s YOU!”
Saith he who scared was Too!

    Then approached from the fog,
A pirate, LO! A SCURVY DOG!
More then came, to Dane’s regret…
“just the same…THEY Won’t GET ME YET!”
“Oh yeah”, they said, “You wanna BET?”

    AND THEY SANG:

    “We’ll boil yer livers,
    and pickle yer Spleen.
    And pluck out yer eyeballs
    and Spray-paint ’em Green!
    We say what we say,
and we MEAN what we MEAN.
    You’ll regret you met us,
    We’re the Pirates of Bean!”

And Dane ran for his life like a sick Leafy Green.

    He ran real far.
    He stopped at a bar.
He cheated some fool and took the guy’s car!

    He drove down the road,
    He picked up his mom,
    They rode and they rode,
    Till they noticed the bomb.

    boom.

  33. BuggyReality says:

Nice poem though you probably should have used the Jakills instead of pirates and tak instead of a bomb. Just for Pendragon consistency.

  34. Amanda says:

haha me and my friend have been practicing courtney lines too! We were thinking of doing a pendragon skit for forensics in high school…..but no one else reads pendragon so we can’t get more people :/

haha just read this made me laugh cuz it sounds like something courtney would say. where you in character when dogma started commenting?

  36. MissBookworm says:

    @Dogma
Jeez, man! Will you chill the heck out?! People are allowed to be optimistic about things! If Pendragon was what got you through your childhood, you should want to be a part of this too, and if you don’t then just go pound on someone else becuase we don’t want to hear it. If you even bothered to read some of the earlier comments, you’d notice that we’re not obsessing over being in the movie, going all like “OMG, I would like TOTALLY be the BEST actor for Courtney in the history of the PLANET. OMG! I’m like TOTALLY, the ONLY person who could ever do justice to that part! OMG! I’m the best EVER! YAY!”

  37. veelox0 says:

I an so tired of waiting!!! I have reread almost every book and I have read the reality bug (my favorite book of course) so many times that I can probably recite the book by now…I am just so nervous and excited about a movie…can’t wait any longer!

  38. Challenger Black says:

Yeah, I’ve got so much nervous/excited energy building up! Either way, once we get some news…I’ll explode, especially if it’s good news! 🙂

    Hobey ho!

  39. MissBookworm says:

Neither can I. I need school to start so I’ll have something to take my mind off this. Hopefully, though, we’ll here something before I go back to school on the twenty-fifth.

  40. MissBookworm says:

    @Challenger Black
Don’t let yourself explode if it’s good news, becuase then you can’t watch the movie when it comes out.

  41. Challenger Black says:

Yeah, usually, I don’t look forward to school, so much work, stress, etc, but at least that way I’ll be occupied till we get some news. I’m sure once I get back into school and whatnot, I won’t think as much about the movie and then out of nowhere…we’ll get some news!

Who knows though? Maybe we’ll get some news before then. Really hope so!

  42. Challenger Black says:

Don’t worry! I’ll make sure not to explode 🙂

I’ll just scream into my pillow and let all the excitement out…that should do the trick!

  43. veelox0 says:

    Oh and ps
What dogma said was really mean..you shouldn’t hurt people like that…I’d like to see you respond to all of these comments now! Plus you know nothing about our lives…for all you know we could be broadway stars with a ton of talent!

  44. MissBookworm says:

I’ve found that pillows are amazing stress relievers. You can punch them, or scream into them, or throw them across the room, or even cry into them if you need too. Pillows are truly amazing.

  45. veelox0 says:

I think Bobby would feel better if he had a pillow..noore sleepless nights on primitive territories and no more stress! If he can keep his boxers then why not bring a pillow!

  46. Challenger Black says:

Exactly. Pillows are great for anything.

  47. MissBookworm says:

LOL! That’s true. A pillow would definatly be a good idea. He could pretend that it was Saint Dane…I bet that would end well…

  48. MissBookworm says:

My pillow helps me get through suspense in the books. It gives me something to cling to.

  49. MissBookworm says:

Wow. We only need forty more comments to break the record…Impressive. I’m really pround of us. Sure, some posts have been completely pointless, but we stay on track…for the most part.

  50. BuggyReality says:

Boxers are one thing but you never know, pillows might superpower a tak bomb :).
