I had a request to start a blog where you could weigh in on thoughts about a movie based on The Merchant of Death and to discuss casting. This isn’t to say that a movie is imminent. It isn’t. But I’m working with some folks to develop one now, so you never know. (Just don’t hold your breath!)

I would love to see Denduron with my eyes, as opposed to my brain when I’m reading or asleep. I’d espically like to see the quig-bears. And see one explode. Sounds awesome to see a shower of blood and guts raining from the sky…

Don’t worry, you’re not the only one! I too would love to see the violent and gory aspects of Pendragon. I’m dying to see the territories and characters, but the violence of Pendragon is just downright exciting! The blood, shooting, exploding quigs…how exciting would that be on the big screen?

Exploding quigs are definately high-up on my exciting list…they better not tone it down to make it PG. Every violent aspect of that book has a lot to do with the overal story. If you take that stuff out, then the whole storyline had to change, and that isn’t something that i want to see happen.

Yeah, there’s been a lot of poetry lately. More than a few, that’s for sure. But most seem to be Pendragon related anyway, so I guess it’s not completely off topic.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure Pendragon would have to be PG-13 to do the books justice. I mean, how can you have shooting, blood, stabbing, jumping off buildings (Nasty Gangster), and all the other violent happenings and not have it PG-13?

I totally agree. PG wouldn’t cut it at all. Just too gory, but that’s one of the many things that makes it awesome. Adventure, violence, romance, mystery, humor, and other worlds. I mean, what else can you ask for?!

Yeah, I agree with you. That’s what makes Pendragon so great. There’s so much adventure, but at the same time, there’s so much violent and shocking events that makes the whole thing feel so “huge.” If they cut that out of the movie, or they didn’t do justice to that aspect of the books, it just wouldn’t feel like Pendragon.
Like Osa’s death for example. That’s a sad and shocking moment of the book, and if they made that less violent then it really is, I doubt it would have the same impact. It’s got to be violent to get the “shock” factor across.

Yeah, that’ll be awesome. When you first see her, you wouldn’t expect that from her, but she really shows what she can do.

That part had me laughing so hard. Pendragon is definitely violent, but it isn’t pointless mindless violence that is happening just so that there is some action.

@challenger orange or whoever made that comment about me sounding like courtney when i was yelling at dogma. That was soo no on purpouse I was just mad and that how I sound when I’m mad. Now that I re-read it I does sound like courtney, I guess I’m more like her than I thought. If you thought I was trying to sound like Courtney, then maybe I have a better chance than I thought.

yea the title of the first book is “The merchant of Death” how can that not be PG13? also yea i think dorma ( or whatever cant remember) got scared when no one backed him up. also if bobby had a pillow and someone found it they then would be use to that level of comfort and then would be obssed to trying to figure out how to make them. It could start a war if one tribe made them and others wanted them and they would not share. thus changing the course of history 🙂 one thing i noticed is we dont want it toned down. i know they did it with eragon and i was mad because i knew in eldest it needed to be rated R for the girls with the dragon tats on their bodies.

Has anyone read the Hunger Games? Its a really good series and has a similar plot to The Quillan Games.

Yeah, I agree. I’ve got so much excitement built up that it’s just good to discuss things and try and keep myself busy so I don’t drive myself crazy thinking about it too much.

Same i have so much free time till I go to Florida that I need something to do. Ive literally spent almost all my free time practicing to be Courtney (I still need someone to practice with) or on this site trying to ge not go crAzy with excitement

Yeah, and I’ve still got a while before I head back to school. I go back the first week of September, so I’ve still got a bit of time. I’m hoping we’ll hear some news before then, but if we don’t, I’ll be so busy in school anyway, that I won’t be thinking about it as much. But still, it’d be awesome if we got some news at the end of August, at the latest.
