I had a request to start a blog where you could weigh in on thoughts about a movie based on The Merchant of Death and to discuss casting. This isn’t to say that a movie is imminent. It isn’t. But I’m working with some folks to develop one now, so you never know. (Just don’t hold your breath!)
So, here’s the blog. Have fun.

Uncle Press says:
Has any body read the Eric Rex books? I saw that D.J reviewed them and he seemed to like them so I’m wondering if I should get them
Challenger Black says:
I actually haven’t read those, but if D.J. reviewed them, I might just go and give them a read 🙂
Courtney chetwynde says:
Wow ive been gone an hour or two and u guys have already started a new page.
BuggyReality says:
Well that’s what happens when a bunch of us are on.
Challenger Black says:
Yup, discussions get going and before you know it, there’s a new page.
Uncle Press says:
I’m still not over the fact that there will be a movie
Uncle Press says:
Sometimes when I’m reading books I imagine characters looking like people I know or characters that I know and if anybody does that too who do you imagine as Uncle Press. I imagine Doc from back to the future.
Challenger Black says:
I know. I don’t think it’s quite hit me yet that there might be a movie. I think I’m in still in shock…and excitement!
Uncle Press says:
Does anybody else think it’s a bad idea to split movies into 2 parts. I just heard that Hunger Games is going to be 4 movies instead of 3
Challenger Black says:
It can be a bad idea, especially if it doesn’t need to be split. If a book can be made into a movie with just one movie, then that should be how it’s done. I think part of the reason a movie would be split is to make more money. They did it with Harry Potter, Twilight…and now Hunger Games.
Uncle Press says:
If they do that with pendragon I might understand because the last is so big.
Challenger Black says:
Yeah, I wouldn’t be against having Soldiers of Halla split into two parts, because now that I think about it, that book would be quite challenging to fit into one movie. There’s just so much that happens, that it would probably be difficult to do the book justice with only 2 and half hours, if that’s how long it would be.
Uncle Press says:
Same with Harry Potter I geuss, it was pretty big too. But for Hunger Games theres no point and I haved people tell me it would be easy to fit breaking dawn into one book
BuggyReality says:
I would watch it even if it was 6 hours 🙂
Challenger Black says:
Yeah, I’m just finishing up Mockingjay now, I’m almost done with it, and honestly, I don’t see the reason to split it into 2 parts. It really seems like they could make the book into one film. The book isn’t overally big, unlike the last Harry Potter and Soldiers of Halla.
Challenger Black says:
Same here, BuggyReality. I’d watch it however long it was 🙂
Uncle Press says:
I’d watch it if it was 6 hours too.
Uncle Press says:
Hey what’s everybodys favourite pendragon character. I love Spader and Mark. Not that I don’t like bobby
Challenger Black says:
That’s a tough question. I love so many of the characters, but I’d have to say my top favorites are Bobby, Mark, Spader and Press. And Saint Dane, of course 😉
But I can’t pick just one favorite.
BuggyReality says:
They are all my favorites.
Uncle Press says:
Yeah I forgot Uncle Press and Loor
Challenger Black says:
Yeah, it’s too hard to pick just one favorite. If someone asked me who my favorite was and that I couldn’t pick more than one…I wouldn’t be able to.
BuggyReality says:
Okay so what is your favorite line from Pendragon?
Uncle Press says:
I’d also like to see a Morpheus Road movie.
Uncle Press says:
Obviosly Hobby Ho
BuggyReality says:
Mine is:”Oh those wacky kids” from rivers of zadda.
Challenger Black says:
Hmm…tough one.
One of the obvious ones is “This is the way it was meant to be.”
And I love when Bobby always says, “That wouldn’t have been cool.” That always makes me laugh 🙂
And of course “Hobey ho, let’s go!”
Uncle Press says:
Favourite book?
Challenger Black says:
And I like when Press says to Bobby in Merchant of Death, “There are no problems, only challenges.” Love that!
Challenger Black says:
That’s an easy one (for me). Quillan Games, with Lost City of Faar and Never War coming in close second.
BuggyReality says:
Just look at my user name 🙂
Uncle Press says:
Personally I like 1-3 and 7-10
Challenger Black says:
Yeah, I think I know which one’s your favorite, BuggyReality 😉
Challenger Black says:
And since my user name is Challenger Black, I guess my favorite is kind of obvious.
BuggyReality says:
Your most shocking breathtaking realization? Mine was when Siry said “its veelox”. I almost choked the moment I read that part.
Uncle Press says:
Would anybody want to see a Morpheus Road movie
Uncle Press says:
When I realized Mark wasn’t dead
BuggyReality says:
Yes as long as I squint my eyes and stuff my ears at the parts where Marsh is alone in his house. 😉
Challenger Black says:
Oh, I agree! That moment when you realize Ibara is Veelox…man, that was easily one of the biggest shockers. Another big shocker was the last chapter of Raven Rise. That’s my favorite scene in the entire series. I remember first reading that part…and was just absolutely in shock…but in a good way 🙂
Challenger Black says:
And the scene on the Queen Mary when Courtney is about to shoot Mark. My first time reading that, I actually had to put the book down because I was in tears at the thought of Mark getting killed. Thank goodness I read on though.
BuggyReality says:
That was amazing too. I was like :There not dead! Press was right!”
Challenger Black says:
I know. I absolutely love when Bobby is reunited with Press. That scene gets in tears everytime. It’s sad when Press dies…but it’s even more powerful when he returns, or at least I think so 🙂
Uncle Press says:
This is morpheus road but I was shocked to find out that Marh’s best freind was dead (whose name escapes me)
Challenger Black says:
Same here. I honestly didn’t expect for Cooper to be dead. I thought they’d eventually find him, but when I found out he was dead…I was pretty shocked.
And in The Black, when we find out the truth about Maggie, that was another big shocker.
Uncle Press says:
I actually haven’t gotten around to reading the black yet which kills me inside
BuggyReality says:
I never thought that Coop was actually dead until the part that was the night before they did a search for his body.
BuggyReality says:
Oh man you need to find that book. DJ paints an amazing image of life after death.
Challenger Black says:
Yeah, The Black was such an amazing read. I loved The Light, but The Black was just such a big step up from The Light. Cooper’s story was just awesome.
Uncle Press says:
Any guesses on the title of morpheus road book 3
BuggyReality says:
Hmm, favorite acolyte? Dodger for me.
