Pendragon Movie Blog

I had a request to start a blog where you could weigh in on thoughts about a movie based on The Merchant of Death and to discuss casting. This isn’t to say that a movie is imminent. It isn’t. But I’m working with some folks to develop one now, so you never know. (Just don’t hold your breath!)

So, here’s the blog. Have fun.

Dodger, no question. I just love that little guy. He cracks me up 🙂

  2. BuggyReality says:

    The Solara? 1900! 🙂

  3. Challenger Black says:

Woo-hoo! Almost on our way to 2000, mates!

  4. Uncle Press says:

    I like Loors little sister

  5. BuggyReality says:

    Onward to 2000!

  6. Challenger Black says:

Yeah, Saangi is awesome. I always liked her.

  7. Challenger Black says:

Hobey ho! Last one to 2000 buys the sniggers! 🙂

  8. BuggyReality says:

She’s cool too, though one Loor is quite enough 🙂

  9. Uncle Press says:

I just remembered a scene I loved while reading book 6. It was hen bobby was talking about the ” tribe ” he was from and talking about how his tribe the yankees were trying to defeat the red socks

  10. Challenger Black says:

    Quite true.

  11. Challenger Black says:

I’m re-reading book 6 right now and that scene always cracks me up.

  12. BuggyReality says:

Lol I am from the yankee tribe. That was hilarious.

  13. Uncle Press says:

    Hen is when

  14. Challenger Black says:

It’s just so funny how he makes that up right on the spot 😛

  15. BuggyReality says:

Rivers of Zadaa is also one of my favorites, because Saint Dane just loses it. First he mangles Bobby then stabs Loor. Though those scenes were sad, I also liked them, because Saint Dane really went crazy. 🙂

  16. Uncle Press says:

Yeah. It showed that Bobby was getting to him

  17. Challenger Black says:

Yeah, I love Rivers of Zadaa. And Mark and Courtney’s story is just awesome. Courtney goes off to summer school, meets a cute guy, only to find herself almost killed. And you’ve got the whole thing with Andy and Mark.

  18. Uncle Press says:

In the movie I’m worried about how they will be going back and forth from Denduron to Second Earth and how Bobby’s sarcasam will come through. If they can’t have some sarcasam a lot of tge movies will be too dark

  19. BuggyReality says:

Also Bobby actually beat Loor at something for the first time. Never make the first move 😀

  20. Uncle Press says:

    Tge is the

  21. Challenger Black says:

Yeah, they gotta keep the sarcasm and the humor in there, because that’s part of what makes Pendragon great. I’m sure they’d be able to get that across. And going back and forth between Denduron and Second Earth shouldn’t be too big of a problem. Transitions like that are done quite often with moves. You just have to find the right time to switch from Bobby’s story…to Courtney and Mark’s.

  22. BuggyReality says:

    True, true.

  23. Uncle Press says:

If you could become one of the characters and live out their adventures who would it be?

  24. BuggyReality says:

So, um, favorite line from Morpheus? Mine was: should I drop the g in freaking?

  25. Challenger Black says:

Tough question, but I’d have to say Spader. I would just love to experience life on Cloral, drink sniggers, play spinney-do, and just live the life of an aquaneer. Spader loves his life, life on Cloral, and those reasons, it would be such fun.

    Hobey ho!

  26. BuggyReality says:

I would become the founder of Lifelight and live forever in that wonderful machine until society collapsed or I died.

  27. Challenger Black says:

Yeah, it would be pretty cool to be the “Z” and live in the Barbican.

  28. BuggyReality says:

Must have stunk for him to be a kid in his invention and come out an old man.

  29. Uncle Press says:

    I’d be ,Bobby

  30. Challenger Black says:

True. I always felt bad for Zetlin when he told Bobby and Loor of his childhood.

  31. BuggyReality says:

I wouldn’t normally try to push towards the Convergence,….but I would totally bring him to First Earth so that I would be in Lifelight right now.

  32. Uncle Press says:

I’ve always loved Gunny because he was Bobbys fatherly figure after Press

  33. Challenger Black says:

Yeah, it would be downright awesome to step into Lifelight. I guarantee that if Lifelight were real, the same thing would happen to Second Earth as to what happened to Veelox. It’s just too tempting to not want to live out your own fantasy, where everything is perfect.

  34. Uncle Press says:

Hey has anybody read the Graphic Novel. If so is it good

  35. Challenger Black says:

Yeah, I always loved Gunny too and how he always calls Bobby, “Shorty.”

  36. BuggyReality says:

Yeah and if our society crumbled then no Pendragon movie. Maybe we shouldn’t bring it over here 😉

  37. Challenger Black says:

I own the graphic novel. In my opinion, I thought it was pretty good. They didn’t include every scene in the book, for instance, Andy Mitchell didn’t appear, but overall, with what was done with it, I enjoyed it. The images were pretty cool, I thought.

  38. Challenger Black says:

Agreed, let’s leave Lifelight on Veelox and keep Second Earth the way it is 😉

  39. BuggyReality says:

I have the graphic novel too. I think I got it along with Raven Rise. They need to make one for the second book.

  40. Challenger Black says:

Yeah, I really wish they could have made graphic novels for all ten. I would have loved to see Lost City of Faar, and Quillan, especially with all the games.

  41. Uncle Press says:

I just want on D.J ‘s wikipedia page and it says under future that D.J. made a book called the equinox curiousity shop in 2009. WHAT!

  42. Uncle Press says:

    Only 59 more posts!

  43. Challenger Black says:

Yeah, I noticed that too. Kind of odd, since we’re not in 2009 anymore 😛

  44. Challenger Black says:

    Hobey! Almost at 2000, mates!

  45. Melanie says:

I really hope they end up doing the movie, it would be so depressing. The books are so good I think they deserve to be a movie

  46. Challenger Black says:

Agreed. I have this feeling inside that it’s now Pendragon’s time to shine in the spotlight, and to make it to the big screen.

  47. Uncle Press says:

Somebody I know made a point of how it would be pretty expensive to make 10 movies so he could either a 10 episode mini series or a 10 season TV series

  48. Challenger Black says:

That is true, but D.J. has posted, I believe on his Facebook page somewhere, that he doesn’t think a mini series would work. 10 movies would be expensive, but if this series were to do well, there would be no problem to make 10 movies, as long as each movie is successful and does well at the box office.

  49. Uncle Press says:

Yeah. I hope that it’s not in 3-d because personally I’m getting sick of it.

  50. Challenger Black says:

Yeah, it’s getting pretty annoying. Pretty much every movie that comes out now is in 3-D. The only movie I saw that was truly awesome was Avatar (no surprise). But other than that, movies that come out in 3-D just aren’t anything special.
