I had a request to start a blog where you could weigh in on thoughts about a movie based on The Merchant of Death and to discuss casting. This isn’t to say that a movie is imminent. It isn’t. But I’m working with some folks to develop one now, so you never know. (Just don’t hold your breath!)

Yeah, school starts for me next Thursday and as much as I’d rather not go back and have summer still go on, at least homework will keep my busy while we wait for news on the movie 🙂

im halfway through gunners now.and wow i started school early this month but i was bored otta my mind with almost nothin to do. but i get a 4 day weekene this weekend.
this is random-even for me i mean i stiil have no idea where it came from-i had a random urge to scream peterpan and i did.

If somebody made the movie Steven Spielberg should do it. It would be awesome if they could make people look like the travelers form Pendragon. I would like to see a picture of that only after the seventh book is finished.

Well, I’m all for a pendragon movie, but whatever they do, they HAVE to leave the kissing out of the beginning. That was the only part in the series that I seriously would rather DJ had left out. And in a movie, it would be at least six times as bad.
People would be saying, “Do I really want to watch this?”
and “I’ve seen better soap operas!” When they see the characters, who are kids, mind you, smooching as the opening scene. I mean “Ew, nobody would buy it…”
If that scene absolutely HAS to stay in the movie, please DJ, do yourself a marketing favor and use it as a flashback so people won’t get disturbed by it before the real action starts.

Ape Lincoln, how else are they suppose to show that both Bobby and Courtney have feelings for each other. That scene is an integral part of the story, ESPESCIALLY when you read the last scene of book 10. I’m sorry but the feelings in the story don’t subtract from the epicness.

Yeah, it is an important part. Worst comes to worst, if the scene had to be changed, maybe what they could do is set it up so that Bobby and Courtney ALMOST kiss, but they’re interrupted by Uncle Press. Just a thought. Of all the scenes in the book, I think this is one I wouldn’t be too upset over if they changed it slightly as opposed to changing a scene as important as let’s say when Bobby returns home and sees his family and house is gone.
Just my opinion.

Well, it might work if the characters were already introduced, but this being the first scene in the movie?
The “feelings” between Bobby and Courtney could maybe be introduced some other way, anyone?

And I think the kiss scene should be there….
It shows the feelings between Bobby and courtney.
Also it makes the journals complete when Bobby talks about his feeling for loor.
I definately think the kiss should be there.
And if people change one thing in the movie, the whole thing changes.

Yeah, as long as no drastic changes are made and they try and make an entirely different story, I’ll be happy. If slight changes need to be made, I understand, but they’ve got to stick true to the masterpiece of Pendragon 🙂

hey i was reading through the comments and what are the “before the war” books? i saw the cover for some of them but i wasn’t 100% sure of what it was.
from the comments i can see they’re really good.

I definitely recommend the Before the War books. There are 3 of them, and each one covers three of the Travelers and tells of their lives before the war with Saint Dane began. They’re really good!
