I had a request to start a blog where you could weigh in on thoughts about a movie based on The Merchant of Death and to discuss casting. This isn’t to say that a movie is imminent. It isn’t. But I’m working with some folks to develop one now, so you never know. (Just don’t hold your breath!)

I think it would be a wonderful way to share the magnificent world of halla you created with those who are less inclined to read books. I would support a pendragon movie no matter what. I would be lying if I said I didn’t want to be a part of it though, but who wouldn’t? You are an excellent writer and director from what I have seen. Let me know if I can help in any way 🙂

I know! I would love to audition too! Unfortunatly, if there was a movie, auditions would probably only be open to people with agents. Otherwise there would be millions of people trying to get one part.

Yes, but the smurf movie is different. It isn’t a best selling series with millions of readers around the world and a website with thousands of views . If they don’t cap it off somewhere, it’ll be millions of auditions… not all of them any good.

I agree that Morgan Freeman would be the perfect Gunny, im not sure about his name but I think the dude who played Hades on Clash of the Titans would make a good Saint Danre he has a good evil aspect to his personality. I have to researh for the other travelers. the part I would most likley audition for is Mark, I see alot of myself in him becuase im nerdy with glasses, love science and get bullied alot.

Since there are 10 books, You would have to get Fantastic, young actors and actresses around the age of 10-12 for Bobby, His friends and the younger travelers. Because when you think about it.. they would be around 18-21 for the last movie depending on how long it takes for production. And they would have to willing to spend a little less than a decade on this movie.. Because you want the Pendragon movie just like the book.. which is EPIC! Changing characters wouldn’t be to great. That’s one reason I don’t care for transformers because Megan Fox wasn’t in it… But in Harry Potter they were consistent with characters except for when Dumbledore played by Richard Harris died. If the Cast isn’t willing to stay put with this movie there would be no reason to produce it because it is the cast that makes it feel real. Changing a cast member would make it feel fake. I wish I could do a cast for Pendragon, but I’m totally not fitting the age.. I’m 16 and I LOVE PENDRAGON!

Obviously, the characters have to be pretty young because the movie will last quite a while but I think a 10 year-old doing the kissing scene at the beginning would be really weird. I actually don’t really like that scene anyway…

First let me say I am HUGE fan i love love love Pendragon and I bawled my eyes out while reading the epilogue of 10 (btw kudos for the ending it couldn’t have been done better) and after it too..and im 19 years old xD
But i think Pendragon would do better as a TV series actually. There’s just too much in the books that can’t be left out!
Either way, it has to be as perfect as the books! Please be picky.

it would be so cool if in the beginning it was going over Bobby playing basketball at the game he missed, and then when the beginning credits are over, it should say “What really happened…” and then it shows Bobby getting ready for that game, and Courtney coming, them kissing, then Uncle Press comes. And so on!
It would be funny if Saint Dane’s theme song was “Why can’t we be friends” because, he’s evil, and why would you want to make friends with an evil person?
