VYOU video clips

I’ve been having a great time answering the questions that have been coming in on the VYou site. It’s really fun to record these answers because I can speak off the top of my head as opposed to typing them out. That’s way easier.

I haven’t answered every question because, well, there are a lot of them. But also I only pick the questions that I think I have a somewhat interesting answer to give. So if I don’t answer your question it’s not because it isn’t a good question, it’s because I don’t necessarily have an interesting answer!

Here’s the address of the site. Stop on by and ask a question.

    D.J,
Do you have a specific way of planning out your books, or do you think as you go along?
    (just curious)

  2. DJ says:

I’m a firm believer in outlines. So I always know where my story will end before I can decide where it will begin. Of course I change things as I go along, but I always map things out first.

  3. Blacksword says:

    Thanks!

I just wanted to say this… “You might not be as famous as JK Rowling (even though you should) but you are more famous in our hearts” oh… and “sorry Bobby Pendragon… I was busy reading to pay attention to the date” about a month ago was Bobby’s Birthday… he turned 20, right?

  5. Bobby Pendragon says:

I go on vyou all the time! It’s such a great website! I can’t believe you answered my question! thnx

  6. D.J. MacHale says:

Isn’t VYou cool? It’s fun being able to answer questions verbally.

And yes, Bobby’s birthday just passed. Thanks for that. As for his age? Who knows? I guess that depends on when you started reading the books. If you just started to read “The Merchant of Death”, then he’s still 14.

  7. denduron!!! says:

Have you ever thought of expanding the pendragon franchise? I just think that it would be cool to see people wearing traveller tee-shirts, or playing a pendragon video game.

  8. veelox0 says:

I totally agree with denduron!… I would be one of the first to buy a traveler ring or a ” this is the way it was meant to be” t-shirt… It would be great publicity for your books. I’ve also always wanted to ride in a virtual flume whethe in a video game or movie…please keep pendragon alive! (wow that was long 🙂 )

    I <3 PENDRAGON

  23. (name deleted) says:

Just finished reading a really good book (but not as good as DJ’s) that any kid (or adult) that LOVES greek mythology shoul read. It’s titled, “The Lost Hero”. It is part of the “Heros of Olympus” series by Rick Riordan. I’ve studied greek and roman mythology for three years now, and that is about two years longer than I studied the travelers & Halla. I can even tell you the name of the greek goddess of victory, Nike, and the shoe brand is named after her just like the missle, with the same purpose, for victory in any form it comes from.

Oh, and if you are a girl, and not married, and you want to see the Olympics, just be careful, if you are a man and in the Olympics, you weren’t wearing ANY clothes!

  24. Blacksword says:

    Yeah Right……

  25. Blacksword says:

That may be true about Nike, but the shoe is designed after the flying shoes of Mercury(Hermes).

  26. Blacksword says:

Know offense, and honestly I don’t mean to be judgmental, but theres is only a limited number of books on halla, and if it has taken you many years to study halla, you must be a very slow reader.

  27. damon says:

dj machale can i have your address so i can write you plz?

  28. josh says:

pendragon site greek god talk hmmm why dont you talk about pendragon if you wanna talk about the greeks go to a greek site

  29. josh says:

no offense intended name deleted and blacksword 1 and 2 but really

  31. Blacksword says:

    Josh,
None taken, although you did talk about clowns.

  32. (name deleted) says:

I said the shoe was NAMED after the greek goddes of victory! and I also said that I studied greek mythology two years more than Halla, and I studied greek mythology for three years, meaning I studied Halla for one year!

Can’t someone tell someone else about a really good book written by another author, because they thought that if someone that liked other topics, like oh, science (mythology IS a science!), they can know a good book recommended by someone that likes the same series you do! I just wanted to do that, and share some knowledge I know!

  33. josh says:

that was in Quillian games and thanks 4 not taking offense

  34. josh says:

name deleted , dude thanks 4 sharing your knowledge and all . the thing is its a pendragon site and (im new to this so forgive me if im wrong) there r other sites 4 greek mythology most people log on to comment about pendragon or ask questions. thanks 4 sharing your opinions on books to that part was fine (love to learn about new books by the way) what im saying is im one guy and i didnt mean to make u angry at me i was just trying to be kinda polite about it
book opinions are great thanks 4 that
i think i was wrong 4 pointing out the other topics and telling u to go somewhere else my bad
although i am interested to knoe how old are u 4 having studied greek mythology that long and penndragon? and again no offense intended

  35. josh says:

mr. machale sorry 4 clogging up the site with this if i hadnt written back this wouldnt be here …. one other thing before we had the online debate light28 asked a good question and i think you should answer it again sorry bloggers and mr.machale

  36. Blacksword says:

Well josh, that is kind of a stupid answer “It was from the Quillan games,” then greek mythology is tied into pendragon because “The lost hero” is a book, and pendragon is a book. So really saying clowns are scary, is just as random as talking about mythology.

  37. Blacksword says:

And plus you were just talking about mythology a second ago.

  38. Blacksword says:

So really we are both to blame.

  39. Blacksword says:

    (name deleted), your wrong.

  40. (name deleted) says:

well, fine! lets change the subject! any suggestions?

  41. josh says:

    new books by machale?

  42. denduron!!! says:

I think that there shoud be a book that tells about Press and Saint Dane before Saint Dane was bad.

  43. andrew says:

first off I love the light!!!! But ive got a question could you make a movie about morpheus road.

  44. josh says:

that book would sell it has to be interesting

  45. Comet says:

I just want to say my birthday is the same as Bobby Pendragon’s! March 11! Woo!

  46. josh says:

    nice

  47. max says:

dj, do you think that this could be real, and happening right under our noses?

  48. junky says:
