I don’t know if this was the scariest movie ever made, but it scared me more than any other movie. When I was about eight my sister took me to a Disney flick (Sword in the Stone). No problem there. But the second feature was a horror film called Black Sabbath. I begged my sister to stay for the second movie. Big mistake. I don’t remember much about it other than there were three stories and one was about a Medium who died and a visiting nurse stole her ring and the Medium (who was hideous looking) came back from the dead to get it back. I had nightmares for years about that witch-looking thing popping out from under my bed. What movie scared you the most?
What was the scariest movie you’ve ever seen?

Dash says:
-Never really been overly scared by any movie. I saw the remake of the texas chainsaw massacre when I was like 9 so it was a tiny bit scary back then but ehh still nothing nightmare worthy. Ive never heard of this one though-
Arsenic says:
stephen king’s IT scared me more than any other movie, due to the fact that I was five when I saw it, I was scared to go into the bathroom for months… I had nightmares for years though…
Bella says:
I have seen a lot of scary movies and I dont get scared that easily. I was watching Paranormal Activities with my sister and there were some freaky things that happen in the movie, but at the end, it just scared the daylights out of me. I had nightmares for weeks after i saw it. Im kinda of scared of the dark, and i never was scared of the dark. I live in the country,so going out in the dark to do something doesn’t really bother me, but after seeing the movie, I couldnt go outside without running to the car to get something or having a flashlight. It scared me that much.
Noah says:
Probably the scariest movies I have ever seen are The Evil dead or The Exorcist (Original) These movies scared me SO much. After seeing The Evil Dead, I couldn’t sleep.
Ricki says:
Paranormal Activity!!! My friends and I were freaking out more and more as the movie went by!!!
Lizz Aitch says:
When I was a kid, the first movie that ever scared me was E.T. It just freaked me out. It was the same with the Nightmare Before Christmas–it’s one of my favorite movies now, but the previews alone were enough to give me nightmares when I was a kid. I just couldn’t watch it.
It’s rare that movies scare me now, but I still watch horror movies since they’re a lot of fun to watch with friends. It’s always fun seeing who jumps, who screams, and who spends the entire time desperately trying not to flinch.
Katie says:
Even though it’s not THAT scary, One Missed Call freaked me out a bit. The ending-ish with the mom – I think- coming back for the kid is the freakest part… or maybe it was the other way around… either way, still freaky.
Brian says:
I remember shivers running up my spine the first time I watched Scream as a kid. The first time one sees that mask is enough to make his heart skip.
Not a movie, but the AYAOTD? episode The Ghastly Grinner scarred the living daylights out of me for years.
I found The Sixth Sense to be a great deal chilling as well.
Ela says:
Hostel.
What has been seen cannot be unseen. I watched it with my sister in my bedroom. When it was over, I told her to take the DVD and get the heck out of my room. I didn’t want to be in the same room with the thing…
Stephon-gcb says:
I’ve never really seen any scary movies but I thought TIm Burtons 9 was a little creepy a little but was mostly really STINKING COOL!
Hwy D.J. how scary is Morpheus road going to be?
FireGirl20 says:
Well,
My mom only lets me watch “scary” movies. The only 1 I’ve ever really seen is The Ring, but it wasn’t scary, it was just AWESOME!
( I Hate my mom. )
Cassandra says:
I’ve seen a few scary movies here and there, some freaked me out (Paranormal Activity) some made me think (Last House on the Left, A Haunting in Connecticut) some are just fun because they’re scary (Grudge movies). But the one that freaked me out the most was the Ring. *shivers* I DESPISE that movie. I watched it when I was…. I’m guessing around 13-ish, maybe younger. And I didn’t think I could get to the end. Afterward, I feared wells with a passion. When I watched Batman Begins, I swore that he was gonna turn evil.
Me says:
The Fourth Kind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
D.J. MacHale says:
I thought “The Blair Witch Project” was pretty intense, and a great exercise in how to create tension because in that movie NOTHING happened. Nothing scary, anyway. It was all about what you THINK might happen, and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Of course, at the end when you realize that nothing happened you feel kind of duped, but in the moment it was frightening. And of course, you can’t watch a movie like that twice.
sam says:
i would say apocalyspse now
Billy bob Joe says:
Madagascar to many animals!HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Cassandra says:
Man, the fourth kind was….. Goodness, I laughed, cried, and screamed in terror in the theatre. I’m pretty sure my boyfriend still hasn’t feeling in his leg yet. Lol.
I guess, if you watched the Blair Witch Project under the perfect circumstances, it could be pretty bad. I watched it in the morning following a night of horror flicks. My friend had already watched the second one “Book of Shadows”, and she said it was pretty stupid. I guess that was the seed of doubt in me. I was really really disappointed with it because at the very end, something actually starts to happen. Then, the camera falls, and you don’t see anything. Then again, I watched it for the first time when I was 17 so…
Paul says:
The scariest MOVIE I’ve ever seen was probably ‘The Excorcist.’ I only got through the first quarter when I completely dropped it, and memories of it still scare me.
The scariest anything I’ve ever seen is not a movie, but a series of videos on youtube called Marble Hornets. Fictional video-journals of a college student named Jay, whose friend three years earlier began having paranoia because of a mysterious figure named “Slenderman.” He begins to find out why, and accidentally gets involved….
This link is to Introduction, the first video. After that, watch entries 1 to 24.

Skyler Holmes says:
i get scared by alot of movies…
Cassandra says:
@ Syler
Please don’t post something completely off topic and then try to make up for it with a crap post about movies scaring you. Of course they scare you. They’re called scary movies because they scare you. Everyone has a different temperament. I used to get scared by Pinocchio! But please, post how much you like his books on a different blog. The Spoilers one perhaps. I don’t wanna sound rude, but we are here to talk about scary movies, not strictly his books.
C L says:
The Blair Witch project is hands down the scariest movie I’ve seen. I watched it when I was 12 and I had nightmares. I was so scared to go camping that summer it was horrible. Pretty much ruined my summer.
Now I look back and realize that that movie was actually kind of brilliant. Today they use so much gore and stuff to scare people but in this movie it was all up to the imagination.
Shannon says:
It scariest movie i have seen is The It. It’s about a clown that eats little kids. I had nightmares for 2 weeks!
Shannon says:

Sean says:
The scariest movie i have ever seen is dawn of the dead. The old one where their faces are turned blue. The fact is i just hate zombies they freak me out just because how painful would it be to be eaten alive? I was afraid to use the pressure cuffs in pharmacies for years I still am a little and I am 15
laithe says:
the scariest movie i have seen hmm I think is THE INK I watched when I was ten and had nightmares like forever though it isn’t exactly all blood and gore that scare you some of the main stuff is the costumes or things popping out at you all in all looking back I guess it was a good movie
Dan says:
Stephen King’s “The storm of the century” Not a blood and gore slasher just a creepy suspenseful movie. great plot and all.
zack says:

ryan says:

Edward Worton N.J. says:
When i was 3 i saw “Don’t Look Under The Bed” and i was scared for three years. i wouldn’t hang my feet over the bed to get down, i would jump two feet off the end to my door. But now the scariest movie i’ve ever seen is… “Boogeyman” or “The Mist” either one is really scary. i also used to be afraid of “Jurrasic Park” and “Harry Potter 2” because of the Basilisk. another really scary movie is “Snakes On A Plane”.
Sara says:
2010
It’s not really a thriller. Just the situation is really scary.
~Pickle~ (Shmii/Kayla) says:
I actually hated Little Mermaid. Ursula always scared me when I was little. I’m still not a big fan, but it doesn’t scare me any more. lol
I also didn’t like Jumanji. Then I saw it again and it’s one of my favorites. lol
😀
Mac says:
Im gonna have to go with dead silence. i hate dolls. My favorite “scary” movie would have to be the uninvited… The ending LITERALLY sent shivers down my spine and allowed me to fully understand that saying. Have you seen supernatural? That’s sort of scary, but I love that show.
Kelsey says:
My mom doesn’t let me see scary movies. It annoys me so much. I mean, come on, I’m 14! I really, really want to see Shutter Island. That looks so good. Anyway, the scariest movie I’ve ever seen is probably the Ring. Even though that wasn’t scary. And I saw it on the outside TV of my friend’s house, in broad daylight, by the pool. Maybe that was why it wasn’t scary.
~Pickle~ (Shmii/Kayla) says:
@Mac: Supernatural is the best show ever! Lol, I have lots of favorites.
♥PendragonLover♥ says:
I would have to say………SAW.
Lebon says:

I dont really see very many scary movies, but I hope that the light will make me wet my pants….I saw this one movie when I was little but I cant remember the name I just know that it was freaky.
Isaak8888 says:
it was about a monster that ate kids in an omish comunity but it tured out to be a guy trying to fool the villagers.I know weird right, and dont even get why it scared me so bad lol
Isaak8888 says:

Allison says:
I don’t know. I don’t really get scared of movies,.I’ve seen “Lord of the Rings”, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Harry Potter” and when you’ve read books like “Maximum Ride”, “Harry Potter”, and “Eragon” (these all happen to be fairly violent, if you haven’t heard of them) you don’t really get freaked out any more.
