What was the scariest movie you’ve ever seen?

I don’t know if this was the scariest movie ever made, but it scared me more than any other movie.  When I was about eight my sister took me to a Disney flick (Sword in the Stone).  No problem there.  But the second feature was a horror film called Black Sabbath.  I begged my sister to stay for the second movie.  Big mistake.  I don’t remember much about it other than there were three stories and one was about a Medium who died and a visiting nurse stole her ring and the Medium (who was hideous looking) came back from the dead to get it back.  I had nightmares for years about that witch-looking thing popping out from under my bed.  What movie scared you the most?

    @ Allison

1st of all, are you trying to insult D.J. by writing about different books on his blog? 2nd, Maximum Ride isn’t very violent. 3rd none of the movies you mentioned are scary in the least. try Resident Evil 2 & 3. Then every Jaws, then Captive, then Alien, then Thirty Days of Night, then Boogeyman one and Three, all of which i’ve seen, and then tell me you don’t get scared of movies. 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛

  4. Allison says:

1st, none of those movies are gay, just AWESOME!!!!!!2nd, Iwas talking about books other than Pendragon(Cuz pendragon is also AWESOME!!!!).3rd, I don’t know what Maximum Ride you’re talking about, because the books I’m reading have enough fighting in them to be called fairly violent4th, have you even seen any of those movies, because pirates of the Caribbean freaked out just about everyone I know?!?!?!?!

  5. Markus says:

Pirates didn’t get really scary, until the last one. I’m personally not allowed to watch scary movies, but the scariest is 1408, good movie.

  6. Zadaa Ghee says:

I have to disagree. the last one isn’t that scary, i think the second one is the scariest :0

  7. Allison says:

sorry i forgot to change the name. Zadaa Ghee is ME

  8. HAMAKI says:

Akira was messed up and freaky.

  9. kimmie says:

When I was about four, i was at daycare and we watched “It.” I was scared of going to the bathroom, taking baths, and swimming for years.

  10. nathan says:

  11. nathan says:

  12. Max says:

  13. Edward Worton N.J. says:

    @ Max
    Don’t curse

    @Allison

Pirates of the Carribean isn’t scary. i did see all of those movies i wrote, and i’ve read every Maximum Ride except the last two which i am reading while waiting for Morpheus Road. so i know what i’m talking about

  14. Allison says:

    @Edward Worton N.J.
First of all, seriously, are you British or something? “Curse” it’s called swearing here, though you still shouldn’t do it. well keep reading the maximum ride series, I think the last is most violent. And if I said I’ve seen freakier movies than Pirates of the Caribbean or The Lord of the Rings, I’d be lying. Now bubye.

  15. Allison says:

And yes, I’ve read ALL of the Maximum Ride. TWICE. Now please, lay off, it’s my opinion. yes, it’s violent to me, and you’ve read stuff thats more violent. now again, bubye.

  16. A.P Michael says:

Relax Allison, i’m reading them now, and they are pretty violent… not the most violent thing i’ve read but then again, i read a lot… if you want really really violent try the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins…

  17. Allison says:

Sounds Weird . . . I’ll try it! I’ve read a lot too, and there are more violent books out there. and movies.

  18. Kya says:

The movie that traumatized me as a little person would have to be The Ring. I cant even stay in a room with a T.V. without feeling terrified some creepy girl would crawl out and try to kill me. I havn’t even watched all of it, and it scarred me and scared me. I’ve seen all of the second one, though. I saw it when I was twelve or thirteen. I saw some of the first one when I was about nine, which was when I was the most terrifyed of everything since God or who ever controls the events that happed in my life seemed to hate me.

  19. Saintdane123 says:

    Scariest Movie Ever

Without a doubt Paranormal Activity. Oh my god i couldnt sleep

  20. 4realTraveler says:

i’d say all 3 of the ‘jaws’ movies..all 3 jurasic parks (omg! i was afraid of riding in a car for years and i had 2 always look out the back window to make sure we weren’t being chased by a t-rex!!!) and i know this sounds weird…im ashamed 2 say this, my mom doesn’t even know this…but i was terrified of the witch in “Snow White”(yes, the disney cartoon, go ahead and laugh) i was 5 when i saw it and always had to wake my 7 yr old brother up (we shared bunks at the time) 2 walk me 5 ft across the hall to go to the bathroom ’cause i was afraid the witch would get me. 🙁
but anyways…Lord of the Rings’s gullum is a creep and terrified me. im 12 and saw all 3 LOTR for the 1st time when i was 8. i just got overmy fear of the lil freak! when i was 6 Voldemort in harry potter 1 terrified me. thanks DJ for helping me to finally get this off my chest. lol.
oh yeah, and the “Mummy” movies 😀

  21. 4realTraveler says:

btw…i think “pirates of the carribean is suspensfull, but not scary. davy jones is deffinantly horrifying tho. the scarriest part was when Will had to steal the key…
love pirates, seen them all 24 times each!

  22. Allison says:

when I saw Pirates I was pretty young, like 9 and I still love those movies, the first one creeped me out with the curse and skeleton, my mom says it’s too weird for her, and I think the Second on was scary. In the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Golem still kinda creeps me out switching between Golem and Smeagle.

  23. 4realTraveler says:

Lol, yeah, i really hate Golem/Smeagle.
Jack Sparrow is my man tho, jk. I really love pirates, so much humor and it is really fun. great music, fights, special effects etc. etc.

  24. Allison says:

Yeah, I have Half of the Soundtrack from the First one on my Mp3. They’d have to pull off a lot of special effects 4 pendragon, though too.

P.S. I really don’t know how to spell Golem, I was just guessing. 🙂

  25. 4realTraveler says:

lol idk how 2 spell the creeper’s name either, just spell it randomly, he doesn’t need anything special….hehe.
I have all 3 movie’s soundtracks. I think Pendragon music would be AWESOME! there would DEFIANTLY HAVE 2 b an electric guitar in there..

  26. Edward Worton N.J. says:

    @ Allison

No I’m not all British. Im part British though. and curse swear, it’s all the same. and sorry for freaking out. i’ve just read more violent things than Maximum Ride. The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is violent. i still don’t think Pirates is very scary though.

  27. Allison says:

Yeah, I have too. And I haven’t seen Too Many movies that are real scary, so parts in it are scary to me.

  28. Connor says:

Ummm probably The Box, that movie was freaky.

  29. Gray says:

I think that Hannah Montanna the movie is just wrong on so many levels and has scared me for ever….

Although ‘Wolf Creek’ messes with your mind which is also creppy.

  30. iamlegendfan56 says:

I would have to say… um… If i had two choices i would say ‘The Box’, or ‘Land of the Dead’. ‘The Box’ was one of the most creepy movies I’ve ever seen in my time. Seriously. It was just plain weird. Too many twists for me. Believe me…

  31. Human Torch 2 says:

    Alien: Director’s Cut. “Nuff said.

  32. connor l says:

allison/zadaa ghee is a weirdo, and all of you out there should read the demonata series. ITS SO COOL!!!!!!!

  33. connor l says:

  34. connor l says:

  36. Imogeneus says:

oh god. the scariestr movie ive ever seen is
SCARY MOVIE 1. it lives up to its title. i watched on hallowen after hide in the dark hide and seek

  37. Jenny says:

The movie that scares me most is the Grudge. A lot people might say that it was ridiculous and kind of “hokey”, but I don’t know I’ve always been scared of something that is in my house that looks human- oh yeah and wants to eat me … oh and never goes away!!! That’s scary to me, haha.

  38. bri (bree) says:

the scariest movie i’ve seen is The Sixth Sense. well i think that’s the scariest one, idk for sure

  39. brittany says:

the scariest movie i ever saw was the grudge! i haaaate that movie. it was also the first scary movie i ever saw. half of the time i wasn’t looking haha. ugh i still have nightmares from time to time.

  40. Rik says:

maximum ride is not vilont and demonata i oly read 1st and curqe de freack is kidish read all. and none movies is scary to me the only way i have night mares if i lisen to sound track of lord of rings *burr*

  41. Edward Worton N.J. says:

@ bri(bree) how are you not sure

  42. Crim says:

Well… I haven’t seen too many scary movies but I personally thought that The Grudge, The Ring, One Missed Call (the ending), and Sixth Sense.
Although, Sixth Sense was only scary to me because I hate when people get their feet/ankles grabbed by something. Mostly it was good. The new Halloween ending was also pretty scary to me even though I only saw the end.

  43. Isabeau says:

wow, I haven’t seen any of these movies that anyone’s talking about (except for 4realtraveler because that’s me), I really want to watch some of them and get freaked out now, I love watching a good scary movie!

  44. Isabeau says:

Wow DJ! I just looked up the trailer to Black Sabbath! UGH! scary!

  45. Darkness says:

    @ Rik.
how can the Lord of the Rings music soundtrack scare you? i have all three soundtracks for all three movies and they are totally awesome! i have seen each movie like 5 times! call me crazy but i loooove them!!
    @ Edward Norton N.J.
i’m not sure because i’ve watched sooo many movies idk what the scariest one i’ve watched is. *shrugs*
    @everybody out there.
i haven’t the slightest clue on what most movies you guys are talking about. Black Sabbath? Grudge? The Ring? (as in Lord of the Rings?) the only one i know of is the Sixth Sense, that one freaked me out, i felt sorry for the little kid and the ghost dude guy. and One Missed Call. i’ve only seen comericals for it but it looks wierd.
one trailer that i’ve seen scared me most, though (idk for sure) i think it was called Final Destination? it was about a munch of people who died and this dude could see when where and how it was going to happen, i think. and the people that were going to die. one of them was a girl and she was going to get killed by a racecar that was coming straight at her and she just stood there while everyone else ran away smart everybody else stupid girl no wonder she got killed. the one person that freaked me out most of the people that was going to die was the dude in the swimming pool and his trousers got stuck on something and i didn’t see why he just didn’t slip out of them which i admit would’ve been pretty close. but better to embarress yourself then die! fir pete’s sake!!

  46. Darkness says:

sorry for the super duper long post

  47. Darkness says:

i meant for too. and i’ve heard of a movie called Chuckie. what’s it about exactly? all i’ve heard is that a doll comes alive and trys to kill people for some dumb reason as usual.

and sorry for the triple post.

  48. Darkness says:

sorry for the fourth post but i just read some other people’s posts up there and they were talking about Gollum/ Smeagol. what’s so scary about the Lord of the Rings and any of the characters. Sure since i’m scared of spiders i freaked out during the sence with Frodo and the spider bu8t i know that it’s all special effects so i’m not too bothered by it. and if you’re scared of all the fighting. it’s all green screen.

  49. Darkness says:

i meant but. and that’s how you spell Gollum i checked.

  50. random person says hello says:

i don’t know what my scariest movie is that i’ve seen. i’ve seen a lot of movies that freaked me out. don’t know for certain the scariest one.
