I had a request to start a blog where you could weigh in on thoughts about a movie based on The Merchant of Death and to discuss casting. This isn’t to say that a movie is imminent. It isn’t. But I’m working with some folks to develop one now, so you never know. (Just don’t hold your breath!)
So, here’s the blog. Have fun.
Gunny says:
Ok good the money is set. The bus leaves at 12:15.
OOC: Saint Dane you should be the bus driver in disguise. Like when saint Dane was the taxi driver for Courtney and dodger.
Saint Dane says:
The ten Travelers and Mark enter the bus and are elated to find it completely empty.
“So, where to?” I ask. “Iowa, right?”
“Yes,” Loor says, “We are going to rescue our friends who may be in trouble.”
I chuckle, but don’t say anything. The doors to the bus close and the bus pulls away at an extreme speed.
“I know,” I say, allowing my eyes to flash to a silvery lightning-blue. Elli is the only one who catches it in the rear-view mirror. She panics for a moment, and looks to her daughter, who is sitting back, relaxed, and about to fall asleep.
Elli takes a breath and decides she was just over-reacting.
Patrick hands me a GPS. “It says here that Iowa is hours away.”
“Uh-huh.”
“And it’s only noon now, so it’ll be late by the time we get there.”
“Uh-huh.”
“So, we might want to…” Noticing that I’m not much of a help, Patrick turns to Bobby and says, “We might want to rent a motel room for the night. Does that sound alright, Pendragon?”
OOC: Obviously, I am the bus driver.
Gunny says:
So driver, how much will this ride turn up to? I have about 200 dollars will that be enough? Oh what’s your name, I didn’t catch it.
Saint Dane says:
Daniel, but my friends call me Dan. You call me Dan. No charge for my friends.
Gunny says:
“Thanks Dan. Slow day today, huh?”I say.
Walks over to Elli and sits beside her.
” The driver seems nice, doesn’t he?”
Saint Dane says:
As soon as we are out of New York, and headed down an empty highway, I slam on the brakes. The riders all scream.
I stand up and smile at them.
“Sorry about that. Is anyone hurt?”
Robert Pendragon says:
“What’s your problem man!” I shouted jumping from my seat. “Why did you do that!?”
Saint Dane says:
“Hey, hey, calm down… Pendragon.”
Bobby’s face goes pale. I shift back to myself, the handsome, one and only, Saint Dane, and address the group of Travelers who are sitting in shock.
“None of you are going anywhere.”
Robert Pendragon says:
“How did you get here?!” I said while frantically looking for a way out. I see the emergency exits.
Saint Dane says:
Dammit! Emergency exits! I didn’t think of that!
Gunny says:
“Go!” I say while tackling Saint Dane, throwing him into the drivers seat. Tries to hold down Saint Dane to let the others escape.
Robert Pendragon says:
I escape with the others out the emergency exit and run down the high way trying to find somewhere to hide.
Mark says:
Ok Alder is ready, are we going to Iowa or Eelong?
Mark says:
OOC: Nevermind that last comment.
IC: oh man, My arm hurts like hell!
Mark says:
Bobby, do you know how awesome that’d be to just explore the territories?
Nevva Winter says:
So what should we do now?
Gunny says:
I stagger out of the bus. My nose and head are bleeding badly. I am covered in cuts from the broken glass.
” Bobby! He escaped! He transformed into a raven and flew off.”
Coughs blood.
” I feel like hell.”
Nevva Winter says:
I feel terrible.
Gunny says:
” Nevva, Loor, Aja….. everyone is ok! Nevva you don’t look to-” I say, but don’t get to finish.
A eighteen wheeler speeds by, plowing through the bus. The bus is broken in half. A half rockets towards me. It hits me and I am rocketed back. I gain my wits and grab on to the side of the highway. The bus half plummets off the highway, almost hitting me.
“Nevva, Bobby, somebody help!”
Scummy Hitchiker says:
“Woah! That was just like a movie… maybe I should do something.”
I walk back and forth debating to help Gunny or not.
“I’ll help you up for five George Washingtons!” I finally say, holding out a grimy hand.
Nevva Winter says:
Oh!
What’s going on?!
Gunny are you ok?
Gunny says:
“Ummm I don’t have five bucks. I do but not for you… Nevva help!” I say while I begin to slip. ” I can’t hold on much longeeeeeer!” I say seconds before I plummet off the highway.
Saint Dane says:
When I see the unexpected hitchhiker below, I dive through the air, still in my raven form, an crash into Aja.
She has no time to react before I twist her arm behind her back and place a gun up to her head.
“Listen to me, or I’ll shoot!” I shout. “You wouldn’t want to hurt the girl, would you, now?”
“No!” Aja screams. “Help!”
“I would hate to spill blood, Pendragon, Gunny… Nevva.” I give Nevva an evil look. She will regret ever joining the Travelers again. “I know where Chetwynde is. I’m sure, if you were to stop for a moment… I migh be willing to tell you.”
Saint Dane says:
Still holding onto Aja, I back off the highway to where Gunny had fallen only moments earlier. “Your choice, Pendragon. Many lives are at stake here. Listen to what I want, and I will spare your friends.”
I jump off the highway, helping Gunny up, but then grabbing him with my other arm. He’s hurt badly, and seems confused that I’m saving him.
Saint Dane says:
OOC: so, right now, Gunny, Aja, and SD are not on the highway. Mark and Gunny are hurt. Everyone else, including the hitchhiker, is on the highway. Pendragon is about to answer SD- the lives of his friends, or SD’s unknown request?
Robert Pendragon says:
“What do you want Saint Dane?” I ask reluctantly staring at Aja and Gunny. The hitchiker runs down the highway screaming. ” What the hell! That guy has a gun. I’m gettin’ outa here!”
Gunny says:
“Bobby don’t be hasty! He could be tricking you! Forget us!” I scream, struggling to break free.
” Bobby leave us! It’s not worth it!” Aja yells, her glasses falling of.
Robert Pendragon says:
OOC: I think the hitchhiker deserved that accent. It’s just how I read the first comment.
Robert Pendragon says:
“I won’t sacrifice anyone…” I say “No one needs to die today.” I walk slowly towards Saint Dane. ” What do you want. I will answer you after I have this answer.”
Gunny says:
OOC: Yeah it suited him.
Gunny says:
” Bobby noooooo!” Aja and I both scream.
Saint Dane says:
“What I want, Pendragon… Is you. You know you want to join me. You’re tired of this, aren’t you?” I tighten my grip on the gun. Aja gasps. “Wouldn’t it just be better, safer, if we were working together? Wouldn’t you like to save your friends?”
Gunny says:
” Pendragon don’t! He is bluffing!” Aja squeals under the pain.
“Shorty, please….” I say, trying to convince Bobby.
Saint Dane says:
“No bluff.” I drop the gun but hold Gunny and Aja closer. I kick the gun away and repeat, “No bluff. I hate to have blood on my hands, so I wish you would choose the right choice.”
Robert Pendragon says:
I run up to Saint Dane and Kick him of his feet. “Gunny now!” I shout.
Gunny says:
I punch Saint Dane in the stomach, sending him reeling. Then I grab Aja and quickly run to join the others.
Saint Dane says:
Fine. Escape. You still don’t know where I’m hiding Courtney, do you, Pendragon? No, you don’t.
Robert Pendragon says:
Runs away with the others completely ignoring what Saint Dane said.
Gunny says:
Bobby, now how are we gonna get to Iowa? Agh, man am I hurting right now.
Robert Pendragon says:
We should find a gas station or something to stop at. We can ask there if there is somewhere we can stay to let the wounded
rest.
Gunny says:
Yeah that would help. Let’s start moving.
Robert Pendragon says:
We walk for hours and finally find a small town. There is a motel in this town. We decide to stay there while the others rest.
Gunny says:
Shorty I don’t like how Saint Dane has been playing us. He us showing up anywhere we go.
Robert Pendragon says:
We need to pay attention to who we are near. Watch their eyes.
Mark says:
Bobby do you want Alder and I to head to Iowa?
Robert Pendragon says:
We should all go as one. Mark your the weakest one here. After the revert you lost most of the battle experience you had accumulated. OOC: Like I said in the beginning. In this timeline
Saint Dane was weakened but not defeated. Bobby and the others were sent back in time to their bodies from right before Ravinia formed. They went back to their previous ages as well.
Gunny says:
Ok let’s get some rest. Next morning I’ll rent a car so we can drive to Iowa, someone driving us.
Gunny says:
OOC: Meant not someone driving us.
Nevva Winter says:
Gunny,just one car doesn’t have enough space for us.we should rent 2 cars.
Gunny says:
Yeah I will. Alright everyone get rest. Big day tomorrow. I stay up and watch first.
