On the old forums I made a post about this, but since they no longer exist, I’ll write something again.
The final chapter of The Soldiers of Halla has been talked about and discussed quite a bit. Some love it. Others hate it. Some understand it fully. Others don’t get it. I’m not going to explain it all here because I’d prefer that readers draw their own conclusions. But I will make a few comments. First off, I don’t consider the ending to be a cliff hanger. Not even close. The story is very clear about what is going to happen next, and that is that Bobby will soon go to Solara and Courtney will not be far behind. To understand how the events described in the last chapter could have happened, you have to look at the end of the second to last chapter. Bobby lamented to Uncle Press that after all they had been through, it seemed unfair that the Travelers were not being allowed to live the normal lives they fought so hard for. All they wanted was a little bit of time to live those lives, which in the general scheme of Halla, wasn’t much . . . and Uncle Press agreed with him. How that was able to happen, and what all the implications are, I’ll leave that up to you to debate and decide.
I’ll say one other thing, and that’s about the guy who delivered Bobby’s journals to him in the hospital. Short of actually writing his name, I pretty much described exactly who it was. From the events that unfolded in the hospital room with Bobby and Courtney kissing and being interrupted, to his physical description, to Bobby recognizing him, to him saying that he had nine other journals to deliver, there is no other possible person that could have been…but Uncle Press.

i have a question. in the epilogue of pendragon does Bobby know about his travels as a traveler? when he dies does he permantly become part of Solara? or does he have another life like Uncle Press said? cause he said that they had many lives. i know that the epilogue is another life Bobby had. but before that did he return to Solara? so my questions are:

1. NO, Bobby doesn’t know he’s a traveler in the epilogue because Press wiped his memories clean.(how mean!!)
2. I don’t know but I think he goes to Solara and stays there. Because when the other Travelers where getting ready to leave, Press told them they couldn’t interfere with anyone else.
3. Wow..good question, but this is what happened: Press agreed that ALL the Travelers should have some more time, so Press used the powers of Solara to put the Travelers back onto their home territories and erased all their memories about being a traveler. After all the Travelers grew old, Press borught their journals back to them and so they could remember their victory before they died and went to Solara. Don’t ask me why only BObby recognized Press and Courtney didn’t.
Woah. Long post. Anyways, I really like your writing Darkness. Make some more!

i don’t want a pendragon movie. the books are fine to me and even if D.J. directed the movie i don’t think it will be as good as the books are(Sorry D.J.!). so… maybe if they really tried and they didn’t merge all the books together to make only one movie and made one really precise, accurate movie for each book and i don’t care if it was like 10 hours long for each book then that would be good. but if they don’t do something like that, then it would probably suck. and they made the Harry Potters(who are nowhere near as good as Pendragon) pretty accurate. except for the 6th one. it really sucked. so i’m kind of half and half

The only thing I dont like about the ending was Mark’s death. And speaking of Mark, in bobby’s “Solara” life, don’tcha think Mark would’ve ended up with Courtney? Because it seams like Mark had the “hots” for her.

i think that my fav. character is- …………… all of them! i don’t know my fav. one. they’re all to awesome. i don’t know why i’m putting this up. i just felt like it. but i’ll keep going for the fun of it.
my fav. territories are probable Third Earth and Cloral. it would be cool to travel back in time and i love the water so Cloral would be like home for me (plus the sniggers! lol!).
my fav. part would be either- hm….. when he is talking to Saint Dane because i like how Saint Dane tries to lay it out for him so that he knows what Bobby will do and Bobby just gets more confused. i don’t know exactly why i like that part. just do. other than that would be ALL OF IT!!!!! you know if i could invent another territory, it would be kind of like Veelox but different. i would be able to go into all my fav. books but instead of just sitting there in a big tube i would be able to expirence it in the flesh not just in some 3-D fantasy.

I have a couple of questions, not necessarily about book 10.
1. Is all of Zadaa a desert, or does it have some oceans, tundras, deserts, forest, and jungles, like Earth?
2. I know that there are 10 territories. In book 10, Uncle Press said that on 7 worlds, life evolved. Are there other worlds, without life, which can’t be accessed by flumes because there aren’t any turning points and therefore not territories, that can be visited by the travelers the way they traveled in book 10? It would be fun for Spader to walk into a world like this, and find out that this world has glaze sprinkled everywhere, and has breathable air.
3. How come Denduron doesn’t have a specific theme, like all the other territories have? (Earth has Ravinia, Quillan has the Quillan games, Veelox has Lifelight, etc.)
4. How did Bobby know that Xhaxhu is spelled the way he spelled it in the journals?
5. Is there only one turning point for Quillan?!

lot of questions.1- well, if you read the 6th book you would know that now Zadaa has an ocean. so i don’t know if you’re asking about it before or after it’s first turning point.
2- i doubt it very much. d.j. said there was only 10 territories, so there is only 10 terrritories. no extra ones.
3- Denduron DOES have a theme for the turning points. it’s glaze. that would be its fall if the Travelers didn’t stop Saint Dane.
4- Bobby knew how to spell Xhaxhu(which i still can’t pronounce) because d.j. invented Bobby and the Travelers and all the cities so that’s why Bobby can spell it. me, i would prefer simpler names.
5- now that you mention it i reliaze that it didn’t really explain much about Quillian. well, this is how i look at it. since Veelox itself (not Ibara) didn’t have another turning point i think that some territories didn’t have 2 turning points by themselves. sure, there was the Convergence so that could act as the 2ond turning point. that’s how i look at it.
6- i don’t think Blok would be named Google. more like Google/whatever that online store’s name is called where everyone goes.

You mean Amazon? That’s not a very big monopoly! But Google, I dont think its a monopoly, but its more popular than Amazon.
