Anybody who has been reading the Pendragon story knows how much I hate spoilers. They totally ruin the reading experience. But I know that everybody wants to discuss books, and it’s hard to do that without writing things that would be considered spoilers. So…one reader suggested that I make a blog that is all about spoilers. If you’re going to post something about a plot twist or a surprise, this is the place to do it. Of course, many readers LIKE spoilers and will scan this blog to find everything they can. But that’s their choice. Hopefully, if most spoilers end up here, then readers won’t accidentally stumble on them. It’s an experiment. Let’s see if it works.

Hannah Joy Brown says:
I like this idea! On the old forums people constantly had to watch what they said, and now… you don’t have to anymore! I’m excited… I’m just waiting for a new book to post things about! Counting down until April 20th!
Spartan 118 says:
Weee I like spoilers
Ashley (DFC/Traveler) says:
Thanks DJ, I thought this might work… Now we just need to direct all of those with questions over here.
Ramon says:
I’ve always wondered about the territory of Ibara… If Veelox did not fall to Saint Dane, and the Travelers won that territory, would Ibara still exist? If it did, would it have a different name, like Second Veelox (keeping with the theme of First/Second/Third Earth)? If not, and Ibara always existed, were the travelers always destined to lose that territory (Veelox)?
Hope I’m posting this in the right place… and that my question wasn’t to confusing, lol…
andy says:
Man dj i really wished u wouldnt have made this. i read the series and theres so many spoliers out there that i could tell. i loved the books so much i could probally tell them page to page. and ibarra still exist because there is still hope for veelox.
andy says:
There is still hope for veelox it fell to saint dane but aja made a whole intire new place *ibarra* she had a group of ppl leave with her and now she brought hope back for ibarra
Ramon says:
Right, what im asking is if Ibara exists as a haven for the citizens of a fallen Veelox, then was Veelox destined to fall from the beginning?
bobby says:
why why did kasha have to die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kevin says:
Maybe the Angel Of Death
Kevin says:
What would happen if they took Aja (when she was still live0 into Veelox, would she be like a ghost.
Kevin says:
Ooops i ment what would happen if Aja (when still alive0 was taken to Ibara, would she be alive or a ghost
Kevin says:
Im not sure if im asking this right (i forgot kinda) like, in book 10 they were talking about (i forgot the number) a certain number of real territories ,were the not included ones like 1st and second earth, ibara
Ramon says:
I think I might need to clarify my question still, lol, Im glad you guys are answering, but I dont think u know quite what im asking, so here is what we know:
-there are 10 territories in the story of pendragon (though DJ has hinted that there could be more in his interviews)
-There are only seven planets of these ten territories, Earth, Veelox, Denduron, Zadaa, Cloral, Eelong, and Quillan.
-Two of these Planets exist in multiple times as territories, Earth (as first/second/third earth) and Veelox (as Veelox and Ibara).
Since Veelox and Ibara always existed as two of the ten territories, and Ibara always existed as a safe haven for the survivors of a dead Veelox, was Veelox always destined to die so Ibara could exist?
What would have happened to Ibara if the travelers had won on Veelox?
Jihwan Pendragon says:
I love Pendragon
andrew neighbor says:
why is it that in book 9 bobby is the butt kicker and scared of nothing but in book 10 mark is and bobby is almost like a wuss in some parts?
Ashley says:
Bobby: It was the way things were meant to be
Kevin: I’m sure that if Aja was taken from Veelox to Ibara, she’d still be alive. Bobby went to Third Earth and remained alive.
Ramon: I’m sure that Ibara would still have existed, regardless of whether they won Veelox or not. In one of the books (I think it was Never War), Bobby had seen what it would be like if the Hindenburg had never exploded, both in Second and Third Earth.
Thus, Ibara would still be there, although not the same, if Veelox had been lost. Ibara would have probably been turned into something completely different, something overrun by technology and the corruption spawned from it, or would be similar to what it still is, since Aja would have pointed out the flaws within the Lifelight philosophies.
Does that answer your question?
Andrew: In book 10, Mark has been part of the rebellion forever, turning himself into a fighter. During this time, Bobby was on Ibara and not working on his fighting skills, assuming that he had already lost. Plus, in Soldiers of Halla, Bobby had seen how insane Saint Dane had become with power, how he would do anything just to feel as if he had won. This terrified him, as it had for all others in that situation with even less stressful positions.
Maddi B says:
i just got done reading soldiers of halla and i’m realliy confused! when they say bobby got more time what does that really mean????!!!!!!! why is he all the sudden living a completely normal life with what appears to be no memory at all of his traveler days! why is everything all peachy and nice? DX it’s like an alternet universe, except at the end a guy (which i assume is uncle press) gives him his journals to read.
bottom line: what happened? i’m completly confused :/
Sean says:
Ashley, that was NOT the way it was meant to be. Kasha was killed cuz Mark and Courtney brought the cure from another territory, making the flume collapse on Kasha.
Sean says:
Oh, and Maddi B, I know that is a little weird to end it, with Bobby dyin at the end, but he has deserved a long break. He spent 4 years trying to stop Saint Dane, and he had gone through too many truths, that his family are practically illusions, Mark, who dies at the end, Uncle Press, and all the travelers who supposedly died. He got more time cuz he earned it. A series has to end at one point, and Pendragon did end with a happy ending.
Neko_chick says:
ok so what do u mean, sean, tht mark dies? im still reading the 10th book but i like to learn stuff ahead so tht if im reading in class and something sad or happy happens then i dont jump out of my seat and yell (over doing it here!) or start crying (i did tht when bobbies family went back to being spirits) -__- another good series to read is Cirque Du Freak and 2 books called The Warrior Heir and The Wizard Heir. real good books but i have to say D.J. MacHale is my favorite author!
Kevin says:
In the epilogue at the end of the 10th book, it said booby and courtney still call themselves the Travelers which doesn’t make sense since they forgot everything and started life over
Kevin says:
ooops i ment Bobby
Kevin says:
Ashley no i mean Aja actually died on veelox, but bobby never died in 1st earth, but lets say that was taken Aja (before she dies) into her future where she already had died, i wonder what would happen when she went to her future, would she just die
Kevin says:
Actually this is really confusing because shouldn’t Aja be dead if Ibara exists because her future already exists, ugh so CONFUSING.
Ramon says:
That makes sense, thanks Ashley 🙂
Kein says:
Okay, I don’t really get the end of book 10 like i know bobby and courtney live in a nursing home ( their old 🙁 ) but like i thought they had to go to solara? did uncle press mean after they died or something? can they still die? because when they made that flume they lost all their traveler powers plus at the end was that kid that gavge bobby and courtney the journals in the nursing home was that kid bobby?
Nate says:
What it is saying at the end of book 10 is that Bobby deserves to live like a normal kid which he fought so hard to earn so Press realized he deserved more time so he go to live his life before he ultimately goes to Solara.
Maddi B says:
yeah i know bobby deserved a life, but did every thing just go back to the way it was before the travelers, or did they live in third earth and just for some reason not remember their adventure?
Mahum says:
I like reading your guy’s comments because it is really a perspective changer. I am also really confused about the veelox- Ibara thing.
Kevin says:
Wait so in the epilogue did bobby remeber about the travelers becasue if he didnt why did he and courtney call themselves the travelers
Alyssa says:
This is what Im assumming happened. The epilogue never actually happened, its kinda of like those computers on Third Earth when they show what would happened if this happened or what not. Bobby was sad about living on Earth so he would have the drive to fight for it, but not being able to live out his life, so Uncle Press created some sort of alternate dimension and let Bobby and Courtney and Mark live out their lives. Also Bobby and Courtney called them selves the Travelers cause when they were young they traveled all over the world. When they died in the alternate place, the spirits when back to Solara with memories of both what happened and what would have happened. I think that seems most likely
Christopher says:
Since, I didn’t finish reading the whole series, I don’t think I can make good twists as this other people can.
WHAT IF:
What if Pendragon’s sister(whats the name again?) is the Traveler of Second Earth and not him?
What if Spader listened to Uncle Press and Bobby’s warning and Uncle Press didn’t have to die in Cloral trying to save Spader?
What if Bobby waked up in his bedroom and as if all those adventures never happened but he still remembers it?
What if Uncle Press didn’t ask for help and died trying to kill Saint Dane while Bobby is in the Basketball match?(1st book)
Ashley says:
Sean: I’m not here to argue, and I see what you mean. However, if Kasha hadn’t been crushed by the flume, the real effects of breaking the “rules” wouldn’t have become known as easily, thus prompting Bobby and the other travelers (and acolytes) to do whatever they wanted. Everything in the books was done for a reason, and every character had a purpose to fill. I believe that Kasha’s purpose was that.
Neko_chick: Mark ends up dying in the epilogue, though I probably shouldn’t have ruined that for you. (By the way, The Warrior Heir and Wizard Heir have another sequel called The Dragon Heir. It finishes everything and is a fantastic read.)
Kevin: Oh, I get what you mean. I think that she’d still be alive… but I’m not sure… maybe DJ would have to answer that. I’m not nearly an expert on this.
Ramon: No problem! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask (though I may not be able to answer)
Kein (and anyone else who wants to hear my conclusions from the ending): At the end, Bobby’s life sorta resets itself to before the fateful night Press took him away (not sure of the sciences on this one). After the reset, he and Courtney live together, Mark dies, they go to a nursing home, and Press brings Bobby the journals. Solara would be their location after death, not where they went immediately after their journey was over. They can still “die”, or whatever that means in this sort of situation. The end of the book is what you make of it- whether you like it or not. There are no true explanations of how those things happened, or why- they just did. As Press would say, “It was the way things were meant to be.”
Mahum: Any particular part that you’re really confused about?
*sigh* Whew… I’ll come back and check on this whenever…
~Ashley

Guys, I saw a trailer of Pendragon book 10 on Youtube ( fan made ) and it is AMAZING, trust me. Just type in “pendragon trailer” and it should be the first to come up. The exact title of the video is called “PENDRGON Soldiers Of Halla Movie Trailer” Please trust me on this guys its a great fan made trailer.
Emmi says:
i get the ending of book 10 except for who gave bobby the journals before he died. who was that? was it press? because courtney would have recognized him if it was, but she didn’t.
DJ says:
The guy at the end was Uncle Press…of course.
Kevin says:
thx ashely ur a big help 🙂
Jer says:
Wow. That’s kinda funny how everybody has all these theories about the guy at the end who gave Bobby his journals, and then D.J. just flat out tells you it was Press. That gave me a laugh.
Little b says:
DJ
I really dont know what to think about the last chapter in book ten! I have read how the other people took it but what was your take on it when you were writing it? I loved the series but dont really like the ending of it all because I just don’t get it. Please explain your take on it to me!
Neko_chick says:
wait… DJ… do u think they will make a movie?! it seems like every time i finish a series they make a movie about it. it happened w/ Twilight, The Vampires assistant, and some other books. do u think they will make a movie about these books? i sure hope so!!!
Claire says:
Okay so I understand most of what happened, but I would still like to know exactly what happened at the end of The Soldiers of Halla. It is obvious that Bobby was given a chance to complete his ‘normal’ life from where he first left it. At the end of his life, he was re-informed of his true identity and thus was prepared to be sent back to Solara. What I don’t get is how that is possible! I mean did everything- the entire war against Saint Dane- just get wiped off the slate, or did Bobby jump into some sort of Lifelight? I mean, how else could he have forgotten everything that he experienced as a traveller? If so, did all of the other travellers get second chances too? HOW DOES IT WORK?
Also, does this mean that Bobby loves Courtney completely? What happens to his bond with Loor once he rejoins her in Solara?
And what happened to all of their families? Bobby’s family? They are not human, but spirits from Solara. Did they rejoin Bobby in his second chance at living an ordinary life?
Does every soul move on to Solara after their physical lives are complete?
Someone please answer these questions! Thank you!
P.S. I LOVE THESE BOOKS SO MUCH!!!! I was addicted to them from the moment I opened Merchant of Death, and I didn’t stop reading ’till the end. I loved how everything turns out, just as it was all meant to be. I don’t know how many of you are Harry Potter fans, but I love both Harry Potter and Pendragon equally. 🙂 Oh, and I plan on making sure that “Hobey Ho” becomes widely used hahaha.
Random High Schooler says:
Who is Tom Dorney? He is mentioned as being Uncle Press’s acolyte; does that mean that Uncle Press lived on Second Earth for years and made a whole life besides raising Bobby to be a Traveler?
Nate says:
So what I think is that everything is the same but like the territories, you can go to any time. Bobby got to go back to that night and live like he should have. And all spirits go to Solara so technically Bobby’s family and Uncle Press all lived their lives in Second Earth they just knew more than everyone else. When it was time to go they did and Bobby’s family was wiped off the Earth because it was time for Bobby to be part of ALL the territories.
gracie says:
Thanks for stating flat-out that it was Press at the end, DJ–that’s what I figured, but I’ve never been that great at reading between the lines, so rationalizing books like these has always been an effortful process for me.
I find it difficult to reconcile there being “a way things were meant to be”, as harped on over and over again, with the fact that things ultimately came down to “choices”. Just saying.
What I figured the ending was was one of many “alternate timeline” that Press had created for the Travelers–so yes, all the others got to see how their lives would have played out if they’d actually been normal humans. Once Bobby was old enough to die, he’d go and meet up with the other Travelers emerging from their alternate lives, and the other non-Travelers (Mark, Courtney, etc.) emerging from the lives that they lived after Saint Dane was defeated. Bobby’s family would probably have stayed in Solara all along, and other normal people would just wind up back in Solara after their lives in the physical universe were done.
It seems to imply that Bobby and Courtney would have been perfect together on Second Earth, but once they got back to Solara…I’m not sure how things worked out in that sense!
On an unrelated spoiler…Nevva’s death seemed pretty cheap. I get that Travelers are spirits, they don’t really die, etc.–that had to be explained in the beginning of book 10, as it was, so good job there. But it felt like from there on in, DJ was afraid we wouldn’t be invested in the book if there was no risk…”oh, so they’ll die, but it won’t really be a big deal”. So Nevva had to meet a face worse than death to up the ante…? Seems to me like she wasn’t that bad a character, and that people would ultimately “believe in” what she stood for like they didn’t believe in Saint Dane at the end. Maybe he lied to her to keep her under his thumb, and she’ll rejoin them someday?…That’s my theory, anyway, shallow optimist I am. 🙂
Swiffy says:
To Claire: I’ll attempt to answer your questions.
Yes, all of the other travelers got second chances too. The mysterious guy (Uncle Press) said he had nine more packages to deliver.
No, I don’t think the entire war with Saint Dane was wiped off the slate. If it was, why would Uncle Press deliver the journals? What happened was all the travelers got to live lives with no burden of Saint Dane or Solara or Territories or Flumes or anything. It made for a happy ending.
I don’t have the book with me right now, so I’m not guaranteeing anything, but I think it said that Bobby’s family was indeed there with him. I’ll check later.
Your question about Solara is a question I’ve often wondered myself. Sorry, but I can’t really help you out with that one…
I hope I answered your questions. If you’re still confused, please let me know.
Kein says:
DJ are you going to give a visit to Houston, TX because i would know A LOT of kids would freak and rush to get book signed or something. So let me know your answer please.
Neko_chick says:
someone in my class looks like the way tht they made spader on the front of the before the war books but this guy jas a fatter head, he is paler, and more of a flat face
Evan says:
Saint Dane and Uncle Press are both gods
laithe says:
you know i’m kind’ve dissapointed that in the before the war books there wasn’t apart about uncle press’s adventures or even saint danes. I think that would be pretty cool does any one agree ?
